A Smile, Mask, & Wawa ... :)

So, the other day I stopped in Wawa. I've feel pretty comfy going in there - they are really on top of safety measures. And, the ones here absolutely adhere to "NO MASK - NO SERVICE ...

When I got to the counter, there was a plexiglas partition between the two of us. I noticed immediately a little sign in the rite hand corner that said this: "there is a smile behind my mask" with a smiley, of course. I asked for ciggys, commented how I saw the him smiling, He commented on my blue sunglasses - LOL ... then I said, "you aren't going to card me, are you" and LOL'ed big time. He laffed and said, "can I see your ID", so I dug it out and gave it to him. He glanced at it and said, "just wanted to make you smile" ...

After I paid for my stuff, I wished him a blessed day. As I was walking away, he said, "have a great day living the best live you can" ...

It wasn't until I got back into my car that I realized the shirt I was wearing said this: "LIVING MY BEST LIFE"!

What an awesome experience to share with someone who just moments ago was a complete stranger. It was enhanced due to him being a generation younger than me. And, most importantly, with society falling apart with so much hatred towards people who don't look like you, think like you, etc., neither of us the difference in our skin color ... what we saw was another human being, what we did was share an act of kindness towards another ...

That memory is forever embedded in me - it was truly a beautiful day ...

"Dance until you shatter yourself" - Rumi

While driving today, my I-POD cranking, my head bouncing ... LOL ... trying to sing ... thought bout how long it's been since I've been dancing, tho, I I mostly will only dance in private. Plus, I'm a walking klutz-on-wheels! Of course, that doesn't mean I won't do it in public = gulping down some "liquid courage". When it's safer to head out, this is one of the first things that I'm indulging in!

How are your dancing skills - do you need a few doses of "liquid courage"?

Goodwill still has their dressing rooms closed, as mandated by the state. So, what's a girl to do ...

1. Wear a long flowing dress with spaghetti straps ...
2. Find an out of the way corner ...
3. Panties optional ...

As I was lifting my dress and putting on a pair of shorts, a few employees stumbled upon me. They were like in shock or something - for me it was no big deal = exhibitionist ...

The lady says to me, "'oh honey, you are on camera, security is watching". My response: "is this a jailable offense?" "People are watching you!!", she said. I followed up my first comment with this: "as long as prison orange isn't in my future, watch away!" ...

Scored a few tshirts and two pair of shorts ...

"Uuummm - did you just say 1100 bucks?!?!"

Ya, he did ... the battery and alternator are a given. Then, he went on and listed three other things for preventative maintenance. It's like dude, got a barter system?!

Consider myself lucky - could have needed a whole new engine. Which could have translated into not worth it = have to get a new car ...

My girl will be back home tomorrow - YAY!!

I was out and bout today and decided to stop at Super Walmart to pick up the ingredients I need for my Saturday nite dinner date. It was 6 miles or so from where I was, and, 2 miles from my apartment. So, I'm cruising with my I-POD, jamming out, the AC cranking, An ordinary day ... until it wasn't ...

At like 4 miles, a lite my dash came that I've never seen before = not good. Turning back towards home, I asked the Universe to get me there safely several times. 3 miles left, when I my brakes, they felt like loose, like no traction. On then comes my ABS lite - radio going in and out - AC turning off and on. At that point, I was starting go into a panic attack. Just kept talking to the Great Spirit, asking over and over watch over . Almost home - 2 miles go. Third lite comes , it's like a person with a seatbelt, but I couldn't tell if it was buckled. Dash blinking - felt like my car was possessed. Remembering breathe, bringing myself down. My car was getting slower and slower - lunch hour rush - round 1 mile till my complex. Asking the Powers-That-Be not let anything happen ...

It seemed like fucking forever before I pulled in and parked. After turning off the engine, I tried restart. Nothing - just that dam clicky sound. The dash was exactly the same as it was when I turned it off. Took a pic so I could see what the fuck was going ...

Owners manual ...

The first lite was a battery symbol, with the little plus/minus = no charge going the car. Battery and/or alternator. Of course, ABS = brakes. The person thingy was for the restraint system. So, basically, the entire car was shutting down as I was driving it ...

Put a call into my insurance to send a tow truck. This bozo came in a pick - with no tow the back. First thing he does it try jump . Altho it did work, the dash was still lit . He tells run it for like 30 minutes and the lites will go out. Then, tells that he can get a battery and his friend can come later in the nite install it - totally sketchy - like no fucking way. Now he says that I've got to put another call in for the tow truck. It's hot as fuck and I'm not a happy camper ...

Back in I go and call back. The guy was very nice and had someone here within the hour. Back out I go, hoping they sent a real tow truck this time ... it like was like looking at one of the leashes that have no dog ...

So, the second guy comes ... equipped with a personality! While explaining to him what happened, he was very empathetic. I could feel my insides starting to surge. He could tell i was freaking the fuck out. Told me he would care good care of her - not to worry ...

So, at the dealership she sits, waiting to be seen in the morning. Regardless of the cost, it could have been so much worse. I'm so grateful to the cosmos for keeping me safe, grateful for the guy ... he was such a sweetie!

I thank the stars above on a daily basis. For this guy and the company, I wanted to do something to show my appreciation. Getting a thank you card and a Visa gift card and dropping it off ... figure a few beers would be nice ...

While looking for my quote of the day, I learned something new ...

Wednesdays were the best thing bout Atlantis. The middle of the week was a traditional holiday there. Everyone stopped work and celebrated the week being half over ...

Do you think Atlantis really existed at some point? I absolutely do and would luv the chance to go there and explore ...
