The loss of a man's best friend

Some that have read my blog know how much my pitbull (AwANA) and dauchsund (lil b) are a part of my life.
These two have been with me for quite awhile now. But thanks to ignorant people (That only see pitbull as a mean, and agressive dog). She was shot. Simply doing her job.
On August 22, 2006 an intruder jumped the back fence (while being pursued by a police officer). Unfortunately for him (the intruder) Awana is quick. So she pulled him to the ground immediately. The Officer (without thought) assumed Awana was going to kill the fence jumper. Shot her.
Had he paid attention he would have noticed that the intruder was not following directions to stay down instead of punching and kicking at her while his leg was in her mouth.
Once again a pays the price of man's ignorance. With it's life.
Another reason to hate life comes to light.

A day at the beach

Well I spent part of the day at Seaside, Or. Walking on the beach with lil 'b'. For those whom might question about lil 'b'. She is a mini dauchsund. We had fun. Course she found out the hard way to run faster when a big wave comes in. ha ha ha.
Also I had the joy of going over the side of a ridge in my jeep cherokee.. COurse I walked back to the highway (3miles away to get a ride to town, get a tow truck and have it brought back to be junked.
WHAT EVER YAH DO. REMEBER SEATBELTS ARE YOUR FRIEND. BUT NOT YOUR GUTS FRIEND i THOUGHT i WAS GETTING STRANGLED BY THE DANG THING. BUT IT WORKS.

Looking for some one to spend time with

Well all it is true. I am around. I have been very busy trying to make my world come together. Now that I am here. I am very much ready to meet people. This weekend I am taking my dachsund to a meetup with people that also have dachsunds. It is happening in Battleground, WA. So this must be a fun deal to do.

Rain finally stopped and now mayhaps I can dry out. Which would be nice... Things are going Okay in Oregon. I have not met anyone or anybody yet (friend wise that is.) but keep looking. Ya'all take care.

Well to all that may stop by. Hope all is well. Life is going fair. Though Turkey Day was rather turned into Briskett Dayy in my House. (tired Of Turkey long time ago.).
Everything ids good here. Rather cold. I am house bound duer to snow in the mountains. ANd Doctor said I have lost too much weight. Course I thought is was awesome to be back in my old military Dress greens for the first time since 1992. But hey that is just me.

You never know until you try .............. How being away from the mountains can break a persons spirit.
How being away from the ability to get on a with your . Just to go riding for a weekend. Can bring life back into you.
When you are ehalthy you never realize how important it is to not take time for granted.
When you are healthy you forget that your mind and body have basic needs to be met. In order to stay strong.
Though my health is bad do to my past life of living. Right now my body and spirit are strong again finally.
I see me laugh so hard that it brings tears of joy to their eyes, when riding at a full galllop across the pasture.
My even caught her first Coho Salmon. On a day that no one else did catch a thing. It came in at 32 pounds and was almost 3ft lng nose to tail.
Life can do so much for your spirit when you return to the basics.

and remembers her Papa’s strong loving arms.
Wishing it was her papa. To squeeze her back while she is holding on tight. Never letting her go, till she drifts into the night.
Tear’s stream down her face. While wishing he was still here.

Horseback riding

Well much to everyines surprise I went horseback riding this afternoon.
You would not believe what I went through to go.
1st - I was told not to go.. Shee iit. I am 40 years old - they actually thtought I would listen.
2nd - My mom tells everyone in the house if I want to go. I have to saddle the myself. Knowing damni well I am not strong enough anymore. Little did they know that although I am weak in body.. I still know how to use a pulley to hoist up the saddle with little strength at all. All I did was throw a rope up over the rafters in my barn and tie it onto the saddle. Then hook it upto the wench on my truck to lift it up.
Silly family I have.
All said and done it took me an hour and a half to get the saddled up. Then I let him walk around the corral while I took a nap.. By 1pm I was singing back in the saddle again. Much to my mothers dismay as Smokey and I came around the front of the house on 'Blue's back' with a big old grin on my face.
I went riding for 4 hours. Smokey did real good he pretty much just walked up and down my chest and "Blue's' neck and back. I was waiting for "Blue" to throw both of us off. But she paid no mind to Smokey at all. She (Blue) is the sweetest mare I have been on in ages. Course it is a good thing 'Blue' knows her way home because somewhere during that time I fell asleep.. hehehee... I woke up when she had gotten us within 30 minutes from the house.. I am glad I chose her. My Uncle was the one that let me use her telling me she was gentle and no matter what happened would bring me back to the house..
Well that is enough of the adventures of Douglas.. And his now famous horseback riding kitten Smokey

I bet you all thought I was gone. nope nuh uh. I am now in my house here in Oregon. I finally made it home.
It is soooo good to be here. I missed it soo much. I am going horseback riding up into the mountains for a couple days tomorrow. Though everyone says I should stay off my feet.
My mother through a fit all day about my decision. But who can blame me. I have been away from my mountains for 13 years. And just because I am sick they think they can hold me back, Not in this life bud...
Talk to you more later.
Ohh btw if any one read that stupid away message on my Yahoo messenger. The person responsible for it has already been delt with. And I apologize
