That people with little (who get up early) call people who are able to sleep in (and by IN, I mean after 7AM) at the ass crack of dawn and then say "I didn't wake you, did I?" Well, yeah, you idiot, you DID wake me because it's only 7AM here and I don't have any appointment so I'm trying to sleep and.....GRRRRRRRR.....Well, me and my headache & upset tummy are going to try and crash out on the couch for a while....

After a really fun weekend in Chicago, it's back to the grind.... We all had a really great time in the Windy City. The Shedd Aquarium is AMAZING. I'd never been before and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The aquatic life was interesting, fascinating and really spectacular. I was never aware there were that many varieties of fish, rays, eels, sharks and turtles. If you've not been, we'd all give the Shedd Aquarium SOLID THUMBS UP but get there early as the lines can be rather long.
Yesterday, we got to attend a buffett at the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago and had some really incredible food that the summer camp students prepared. #2 sone really enjoyed his experience and found it very valuable.
I was happy to get home and sleep in my own bed as the HoneyBunny and I were stuck sleeping on the pull out sofa bed which was like sleeping on a metal rack. In short, IT SUCKED!!!!
Now on to work and getting some aloe for my sunburn....

I ask very little of my in the way of chores. One thing I do ask is that they take the garbage to the curb on Monday nights for Tuesday AM pick-up. My rule of thumb is that the task needs to be completed before they go to bed. Well, I get up this AM, look out the bedroom window and NO ONE took the trash out. So I get dressed and drag the trash around to the front all the while muttering under my breath about ungrateful , lazy and annoying .... Can't wait for them to get up so I can "talk" about the lack of task completion...PISS ME OFF!!!!

Picked my HoneyBunny up on Friday so we could go to this party and we had the BEST time...Got to hang out with some friends and meet some new people as well....A few cocktails and snacks, loads of great conversation...Then home to bed... Return trip to a party on Saturday and had another great day...Back home to bed and took him back to his house this afternoon...Longest time we've spent together in a while and I realized just how very much I'd missed being with him...Yeah, we talk every day but just having 48 hours WITH each other was great....Next weekend we'll have 2+ days together in Chicago, with but still.... Hopefully after he gets his eyes fixed, he'll be able to drve again without it being a hazard to the lives of those on the road with him.....
But, a FANTASTIC weekend....Thanks Juicy & Hunt for inviting us...Was truly a blast....

One of the reasons I enjoy summer is the fact that school is over and I have a few months when I am not FORCED to get up to drag #3 to school... Well, he's taking a (A, ONE) class in summer school and the only time the class is offered is 8am-8:50 am.....SO, for the next month, I get the JOY of getting up even if I have no early appointments to attend and drag #3 to summer school and either wait 50 minutes in the parking lot or go home for a bit and drive back to school....Grrrrrr....

So It's Sunday and I'm getting my game brain on for the coming work week. I have a bunch of appointments coming up so figured I'd feul up today and get it outta the way. Well, I gas up and pull up into a parking space so I can go in and pay for my gas & get a HUGE Diet Coke....I'm next in line when a guy of about 30 comes in and asks "Whose black Ford Fusion is parked outside" I say "Mine" and he says "C'mon out here, we need to talk". Well, I go out to look at my car...that I've had THREE FUCKING WEEKS to see the driver's sideview mirror hanging and the driver's door smashed in....His excure? He's driving his Dad's truck and it's SO high, he didn't see my little bitty car.....And can we keep this between us cuz he doesn't have any insurance??? He gives me his contact info & driver's license number and when I reach in to grab my cell, he bails.....SO, I call the police and they come, take my statement and his info....Come to find out his driver's license is expired AND he has warrants out for his arrest....OH, and it's a company car he smashed....FUCKTARD!!!!

I'm beginning to think I've held my hands too many times and that they need to figure out how to handle things on their own.... #2 called me from IL this afternoon about a problem and I kept thinking "And I'm in WI and you want me to do what about this??" It's a problem that certainly needed a solution but the things I did, he could just as easily have done and taken care of it there....
I'm trying to decide if I've always jumped in too quickly to "fix" things for my boys when I should have stood back to let them figure it out for themselves.....

Woke up around 6 am because I needed to use the bathroom, looked out my bedroom window and said "OH MY GOD!!!!" as I looked down at the now flooded cul-de-sac on which I live. The end of the street is about 50 feet from the Rock River and the river is so high that it has overflowed its banks and flooded the entire street we live in the 6th duplex from the end of the block nearest the river and the water has reached the end of our driveway.....It's just bizzare to see....

Ever have days where you feel like you're spinning your wheels? Chasing your tail? Doing lots of stuff but not accomplishing a great deal....
I admit I'm a bit....structured....about my to do list for work and really enjoy having stuff crossed out or carried over to the next day but it feels as if, in the last few days, I've been racing from appointment to appointment then to the final school stuff for #3, then home to make dinner then do laundry, etc.....Let's not even start with having to finish my reports for work and getting my billing submitted....I need a few days off....

I spent only a few minutes outside this Am and was swarmed by mosquito's....The blood sucking litte vampires nearly carried me away....And I'm not a little girl....I'm thinking I should invest in OFF mosquito repellent soon....

With all of the rain we've had, several roads in my neck of the woods are flooded. The city has put up ROAD CLOSED barricades in the hopes people would have enough sense to NOT drive through the signs into the flooded roads.....
Anyway, I pick #3 up from school today and the main road that gets me home is partially flooded.... I probably could have driven through the big-ass mini-lake but I'm a chicken-shit and detoured around the water hazard. Well, I pull into the driveway in time to see a woman drive into the middle of the water hazard and stall out. So I tell #3 to go get #1 so we can push this chicks car out of the water....Her reasoning for attempting to drive through the water hazard???
"It'd make big waves and the 'd think it's cool"....Instead you've flooded your vehicle and are stranded....ARE YA THAT BIG OF A MORON??? So we push the car out just in time to have the police drive up to see if she needs help....Obviously, not any more but... So I ask if she has someone who can come and pick her up? Nope, and it's at least 5 miles home...with 3 little ....
SO, c'mon, I'll give you a ride home....GOD HELP ME....
