The stars have aligned!
For the first time in 7 years...I will be without both of my for longer than 4 hours at a stretch!!! Wooohooooo!
Now....what should I do with this time? I was contemplating a road trip...where ever should I go?
Anybody care to provide me some guidance? The clock is ticking...

It sucks that we can no longer send email as standard members!
Used to be that, when you got enough views, you could send some email . Now, when people are interested, all you can do is pathetically sit and whimper. 
How do you get around this?

Another year older, and again I will be spending it alone.
What does a guy have to do to get a little snuggling or cuddling with the fairer sex around here??
Any ladies ( or couples) wanna give me a ( belated) birthday present?? LOL!
Seriously...would just love to hear from any of you..bummed that I am stuck home and alone this year.

Damn.
So..its been a year since I got laid off from my last job. Since then, I have been working as a contractor or sub-contractor, and jobs have been getting scarcer by the month. Spent the better part of 4 months not working at all.
Unemployment sucks!
My question to you all : how do you stay positive in this kind of climate? I have no problem keeping the course, because I know there are jobs and I will be working eventually. But how do you keep the rejections and the external stresses from eating you alive??

Spent last night alone, and got to thinking...
So...heres my resolution to all my friends this upcoming year:
I will attempt to smile more easily, laugh a little bit more, love a little harder, and be a better friend in the upcoming year.

OK.
Just got laid off on Friday in a move of such incredible stupidity that I am still laughing.
Company cut staffing by 33%. Based on hire dates, starting with the new hires first.No logical staffing plans..just pack your stuff and get outta here!
So I now find myself with loads of time, that I haven't had in years. Job search is going well.
So - what should I do with the free time in between? Any suggestions??

Shaking my head :
So, was driving to a family get together this afternoon. I live out in a rural area - lots of two lane curvy roads, wood lots, farms. Very nice for driving.
Except for the Bicycle riding idiots who have become a plague in recent years.
Now, I ride a mountain bike, and think its great exercise. But we all know this idiot : $2000 bike, designer spandex outfit, and an attitude to match. They hop on their bikes, they think they own the world. Every day, they think they are riding in the freakin' Tour de France, 4 and 5 abreast. At 25 mph. On a two lane country hwy, with no passing zones....and they go out of their way to be rude,belligerent, and just plain stupid when it comes to road courtesy.
So i am driving with my oldest , we come around a curve..and here are two bikes, riding damn near in the center of the road. I slow down and move to the center line so they can see me...and they flip me off!! I follow them for 5 minutes, and they are laughing their asses off and slowing down....and I can't pass. The second we hit a no passing zone..I rev it and shoot past, and they start cussing and screaming....
Now, this would be a footnote were it not for what happened next. A mile down the road, i stopped at a store to pick up some ice. Pulled in. Unbuckled my . As I am walking into the store...Bike idiot #1 comes tearing into the lot..cuts hard...and puts a shoulder into me! And his buddy Pulls behind my vehicle and starts jawing about "bikes have rights..."
I grab my , push her in front of me...and they continue to jaw. If they were , i would have told them to go home. These were grown men, apparently in their mid to late 40's!!!!! Having taken enough, I told these guys to watch the language, as I had a here...and if they wanted to talk, i would be out in a minute. So what do these two tough guys do? One kicks a dent into my rear quarter panel...the other spits all over the side of the car...and they take off...real class, i tell ya...
As I am shaking my head, and the other patrons are laughing at the display...my ( bless her!)..looks at me with a real serious look..looks up the road at the bicycle idiots..and asks..
"Dad...are those Morons?"
Out of the mouths of babes!

Thought I would be a nice guy today...
Went over to help out a friend of mine who hasn't been feeling well.He needed help putting in his pier.Feeling a bit burly and muscular......I agreed.
Its been years since I put in a pier...and I forgot one tiny little detail :
One needs to get in the water to put in a pier.
The sun was shining, the wind was still....I jumped in that water...and my nuts raced up my spine, hid behind my adams apple, and haven't migrated south yet!! (At least we got finished before the wind came up...they tell me the water gets cold then....)
Next time? I'm thinking a suit...or at least a thermal lined jock strap...yikes! LOL!

So.....
I was having a Monday today, and decided to decompress by taking a walk at lunch. While out walking,I noticed a bunch of signs for a new store opening today. Interested, I took a walk over.
The new store was actually the old store, with a new coat of paint (and new management it turned out). Which wasn't a bad thing, because the staff have always been really friendly and helpful. In particular, there is a very plain looking young lady who works there who is just a riot to talk to, always has a smile on her face, and is an absolute font of information on what is going on around town and where to go,etc. She is one of those people who you look forward to talking to - and I was very pleased to see she still had a job, and was working today.
As I got near the counter, an absolute drop dead lady in her early 20's cut in front of me, shot me the dirtiest look, and proceeded to hmmph! and stamp her feet because the line wasn't moving fast enough (apparently...) When she got to the counter, she launched into an absolutely endless tirade about how horrible the store was, how stupid the staff were, and proceeded to verbally abuse this nice young lady for the entire duration of her transaction. She all but flipped her off as she left, without a thank you or anything!! The poor girl was nearly in tears, and I got to wondering:
Why is it that the prettiest people you encounter in this world usually have the ugliest personalities???

OK...time for a small confession:
I believe I have a genetic weakness for natural redheads.This isn't a preference - this is something coded at the cellular level. Has to be!
I am unable to explain it any other way. Put 9 stunningly beautiful blonde or brunette swimsuit models, and one nice looking redhead in a room....and I will invariably fall HARD for that redhead.It doesn't matter if she is tall, short, skinny,chubby, sweet as pie, or mean as a pitbull...I am drawn like iron filings to a magnet!
The corollary to this, of course, is that when I am single, there are never any redheads around to date.As a matter of fact, I will guess that if you check the census records and look at the times I have been single? There are probably no redheads listed within 100 miles of me. {sigh}
Anybody else suffer from this malady? Is it common?
(Any redheaded ladies reading this...please be gentle......and I am writing this, because its getting to be spring...and I am single...Any of you care to help a poor geek out??)

I need to vent....
I just spent the better part of 5 days working on a "Priority Zero" project.Stayed up pretty much all weekend.Poured out a bunch of brain sweat.
Did all this to complete a project that,at noon today?Got placed on a back burner. Not because it wasn't done. It was shelved because my company is trying to land more business.
I understand business decisions, but this was not news to the executives. Why the rush if they didn't need it? This was time with my ...that I wasted in front of a very tiny TV screen.That I will never get back...
Very pissed off. So much so I can't sleep.
Am I silly for wanting to jump and scream about this?
Grrrrrrrrrrrr!
