Finding the Missing Piece (Poem written by LustfulChemical1)

Into this world, I was born so innocent and sweet-
but somewhere along the way I lost a piece of me.

Stumbling and falling along the way-
there were many days I wished it would all just go away.

Over and over I kept falling to the ground-
finding it harder and harder each time I stood back up to brush the dust from my brow.

Fighting each day to regain control-
but the harder I fought the more I slipped into my own personal black hole.

Till one day amidst the pain, grief and despair-
a miraculous beacon of light shown brightly in the air.

Giving me courage and strength that I knew was sent from above-
to love myself and others and have the confidence to show myself that kind of trust.

Pushing me to focus on all of my strengths-
yet gently leading me away from dwelling on all of the pain from my past mistakes.

Though I feel I was not born in utter vain-
the life trials I have been delt, would make most go insane.

But for me I'm glad I never gave up-
I fought my personal fight and have finally pulled myself up out of the rut.

My life may not be as perfect as others would be-
but at least I can say that my life experiences were able to help me find that missing piece of me.
