The movie is the third or forth adaptation of Richard Mathesons book of the same title. the first was Last man on Earth another was Omega Man. The current one is the first to carry the title of the book.
Having read the book many years ago I unfortunatly was disapointed in a number of things that the movie did to the story. For one Will smith, while a good actor, no arguement there, doesn't quite fit the profile of Robert Neville who is of english-german decendent. Its like casting Hugh Jackman to play Ali. But this is a minor flaw.
Secondly the book portraid the 'Dark seekers/vampires' in two forms, those that died from the infection and arised beastial and those that didn't die, but suffered some of the 'side effects', nausea from garlic etc, but retained themselves. But they have organised and found a way of halting the infection but not curing it. They have become the majority and Robert the terrible scourge of their race.
Now the movie showed this slightly in the fact that the 'dark seekers', or at least one of them, had the facilties to set a trap for him that denotes intelligence and planning. But alas still cast that one as a mental case driven by the most basic of emotions.
Thirdly Robert in the book had started the slide into insanity constantly arguing/taking with himself. After all it had been three years since he had anyone to interact with short of the 'vampires' coming to his house nightly. And then hunting them during the day. Now 3 years of that is sure to tip anyone over the edge, but events help to keep him tetering on the edge.
So should you be one of the few that has read the book and enjoyed it don't go expecting the same from the movie. If you haven't read it you should enjoy it for what it is. I then recommend that you purchase the book and read it.

Well I hope you all had a great xmas.
Had a great day with the family.
Wish I could have giving Nereid all her presents, but one couldn't get down to her.. also she would have been too busy to have 'opened' it anyway.. 
Luckily for someone but santa visited early and gave her a 'special' present before xmas eve and wouldn't you know it the power goes out during our third time.. It really is amazing how much background noise you don't realise is there till it goes. Then there remains only the noises were making filling the room...
I hope that everyone had a special xmas like I did possibly got movies tomorrow night with her, so better get some sleep, got work then Friday off. So down to cas for breakfast, might even look at getting a chiro booking too..

Well I'm glad that that is out of the way now..
Brought my sister some jewelery and got dad covered..
Sent Nereid hers and glad that the parcel arrived safe before christmas.. at least something worked out...
Now just got to watch the wastline, avoid the gluttony of xmas and make it through without getting too depressed...
I sometimes try to fathom the scope of the universe, the galaxy we live in and the little system in which we abide and realise that if we (earth) were destroyed, it would be like removing a grain of sand from a beach.. hardly noticable. Gets you wondering whats the point to it all... yes yes I know, 40 bloody 2...
PS looking for a sweet female for fun times, no strings..

Well friday is here and my week of Insomnia has caught up with me... Typical, just when planning on having some fun..
Going to try and get a nap in before 11pm... cause I know that I'm going to be there a while
Guess its the price you pay for burning the candle at both ends and in the middle, while planning major changes in your life for happiness..

Feel I've been fighting an upstream battle for the past 4 days. But looks like I've made it past the bears..
For those that the above is lost on the sockeye salmon travels upstream to spawn. It never gets to do it again seeing as it dies afterwards. Hopefully that won't happen to me 
Anyway apart from the massive swim predators hunt them on their journey, mainly bears. Well there is my useless trivia for the week.
So my week is looking up 
Nereid and I are missing each other greatly... really amazing whats been right there in front of you for years but never seize the opportunity. So take a chance, I didn't, due to my rule of never dating people i work with and never tried after she left. I lost 8 years due to that. Now remember though that the If, buts and maybe game is a mine field...
Well got to take a close look at my roster and public holidays for a special event of carnal pleasures that is in the works...
Better go, got work that needs doing for business customers before I go back to work...

Been having trouble sleeping of late.
I have a number of things on my mind and I have trouble switching off.
Been waking up through out the night for the last couple of days and this morning (2am) I got a text, which brought me out of the semi daze that is as close to sleep that I've been getting lately, from a friend who was meant to call me, so we could catch up, but never did. Then I couldn't get back to sleep.
So stupid me wasted last night waiting around for a call. I'm very close to apathy in regards to this and wonder sometimes if it is really worth it. Far easier to have a wank. I mean I have enough to contemplate as it is without things like this. Why can't things ever be simple...?
Anyway it has brought me to a decision on something so that is one thing crossed off the list.
Also been missing Nereid alot. Shes brought feelings out of me that I haven't felt... well lets just say for a very long time.
Well I think I'm just going to bury myself in CoH today and forget about everything today..

Mate and I went to see Gabriel today.
That was a mistake. Personally I didn't like it. It was crap to be blunt. Previews made it out to look good, guess they did their job right. But the movie is a let down, pace was far too slow with obvious twists, well they were to me anyway. Parts of the film were textured over to make them, the arcs, look unearthly, yet your told they take human bodies once arriving and it isn't continued its only in one part. In all the story is a good concept but they screwed the telling of it, like a badly delivered punchline.
Well I recommend that you don't go see it or at least wait till you can get it as a weekly.

It all seems to be passing quickly.
The day I leave is fast approaching and I'm not looking forward to the feelings that will be coming with it and the months that I'm going to have to endure away from Nereid.
Caught up with my cousin, his wife and their . He is a cute . Also managed to catch up with a old friend from Darwin. She has found God. I'm not a believer myself but it has helped her get through some rough times that she didn't tell us about. So I guess that it isn't all that bad.
Now I just have to prepare myself for getting back into the stride of things with returning to work and all the other things in my life.

Been enjoying my holiday with Nereid
It is cold here so been spending most of my spare time tucked away in bed or snuggling with her Too which I'm not complaining and neither is she well not much anyway.
The first day here we showed each other exactly how much we had missed each other over the past 3 weeks. I have never felt so drained. But to my surprise, and Nereid's, it didn't hinder me in continuing in our pursuit of pleasures.
With the cold it is nice to have a warm body next to you and the sex is great. Moments of heated passion punctuated with intense petting and discussions.
Only 4 days into my visit and eager to see what the remaining 12 days has install for me. Nereid had been a bad girl yesterday and required a spanking, much to her enjoyment.
I have to go. Will post again in a couple of days

A mate and I went to see this movie today. Was too bad, but this one had scenes that I feel could have been better.
I still feel that the best one is still the first, this one was a little to much like Mad Max 2.
CAUTION: Spoiler ahead.
And what they said about the virus's viablity was just crap to me. Yes I realise that it is a movie about a virus that turns you into the living dead, but at least keep biological limitations, 28 days later did with the virus starving, but sustainable for decades? please.
Also found it funny that none of the Alice clones dumped in the pit had decomposed or suffered damage under the sun. Anyway her display of psychic powers was impressive.

Well, anyone else been feeling the humidity?
Been around having drinks at a friends and the humidity is just ridiculous, was just wishing it would rain to cool things down.
These last few nights have been humid to say the least. Don't normally wake with a pillow drenched in sweat.
So the aircon is going on tonight and to hell with the power bill. If I don't get a nights uninterrupted sleep, I'll get shitty at work, shitty at work equals issues with boss, boss could fire me, no job can't pay power bill, one follows onto the other and the circle is complete. Cause and effect.
I had questions,
I sort Knowledge,
With the knowledge,
I gained more questions,
The cycle continues.

Would haven been better off staying at home. If only Darwin had more to offer....
