It's all Shiny!

This is a personal perspective, and by no means do I think it should be embraced by everyone. What would be the fun in that? That being said.....
It has been an observation about the nature of mankind, especially in my culture ( the United States in general) and a reflection upon myself in youth, that people seek fulfillment without understanding how to obtain it. This is what I have gleaned...
We see things that are new or different, and we think..." oooo...shiny!" and we want it.
We do whatever it takes, sometimes at self sacrifice, in the first half to fulfillment- we obtain it. The problem is, most fail to continue on to the next half in the path to fulfillment. That step, being, to cherish what you have obtained.
If it is dusty, clean it. if it is broken, fix it. It may be work ( personally, I think more people should embrace effort versus instant gratification), but, with the vision of it being shiny in your thought and heart, the work will not seem so bad, and even instill something else- a sense of accomplishment. Don't rest on laurels. To cherish, is to simply love, and love the effort it requires, to keep something all...shiny.
This applies to EVERY aspect of our lives, be it material possessions, relationships, and everything in between.
If we continue on a path of consumerism, in the mind set to replace that which isn't shiny, then we shall never know fulfillment.

It would seem that everyone professes a desire for a nymphomaniac at inception of a relationship. The seemingly majority find, in time, the nympho leaves, and the maniac stays. (cackles) I surmise, this is because the exploration and new interest of a relationship, expresses its self physically as well as every other aspect. In time, many will take experiences shared, and to be, for granted. I issue a warning, do not do this. Embrace everything shared as new, because what ever has been shared, is still going to be different in the next sharing. Embrace the lust of life, in every moment, as an individual, and whatever is shared.
