RACISM on AFF

Ok. So. We all come from different places, and sure we can set our different filters and preferences. Theoretically, that is how we narrow our search and find our way to one another.

But when someone on this site goes out of their way to purposefully and maliciously attack someone solely based on their race in a Public Chat Room or anywhere > This is EVERYBODY's Problem on this site.

Sure Iggy Button works great.

But if you haven't iggied these people yet, and you DO have the misfortune of reading their hate speech, you are OBLIGED to report them.

Their conduct is a contravention of the Community Guidelines/Terms of Use for this site.

This goes for Hate Speech based on difference of political and religious beliefs as well.

If you aren't part of the Solution, then you are part of the Problem.

Enuf said.

 I was dismayed but sadly not surprised to read that you were attacked by racists. Its disgusting and I'm glad you have the strength to speak up. I try to live up to that and have called out racists in the past and your post has reminded me to be vigilant and to ensure that I continue to do so. Thank you for posting.

 I am truly sorry that you had to experience such behavior and language. You are absolutely correct in that it has no place here or for that manner anywhere. I do hope that the offending parties have been removed from Affairlook.

 Reporting "these people" doesn't seem to do any good. The ones truly causing strife and division on here survive this site because their profiles get a lot of hits. The attention they're screaming for is paid off in views, so the troll is rewarded and the SITE is rewarded. Don't think for one minute that this site gives a damn about peace or any individual as a person. It's a business. It's about money and what generates traffic. Drama, racism, Trump... all that bullshit sells. This is NOT a dating site. It's a business.

Yes I do see that, but businesses are actually required to uphold their own Terms of Use, as well as statutory laws and regulations, like FOIPP and constitutional protections from discrimination. Affairlook just doesn't seem to have any effective mechanism for weeding out these haters and trolls - or perhaps just doesn't care to..smh..
