I wait
I wait I wait written May 9th, 2021 I wait for the sun rise so I can see if the trees still reside outside. I wait for those who slumber to wake so there is the possibility of . . . ? I wait to know the question so I can search for the answer. I wait to find the key that makes it all make sense. I wait for the tears to start? to stop? to know why I cry. I wait for daylight so I can cultivate something other than silence. I watch my cats sleep in the middle of the night and I wait. |

There are a few poems about my relationship with sleeping (and not sleeping) over the years. It's interesting to see the changes over the years. Thank you for reading me, and I hope you sleep well and wake refreshed.

I think what may be considered "the sacred vigil" is an integral part of creativity. Creativity in all forms. Even the creativity of nature, herself, like the sky that awaits the rain and the rainbow. Although, in some ways, this may seem perhaps melancholy, on the individual level, it is in fact demonstrative of a profound connection to the movements of greater patterns. I very much enjoyed this write, and am rendered contemplative... I like the opening stanza... I am reminded of the concept of object permanence... or the very components of perceived reality... at the very deepest level nature is a series of switches that turn off and on... and seemingly require our perception to exist... *. *. *
