So far the only thing I have donated is blood. But I am mark for donating parts parts once I die.

Thank you! You know that I tend to prefer relative anonimity, but this is the one exception. If one person makes themselves a donor this is worth it.

I've had that box checked for quite a few years. But in addition to that I'm registered on the Donate Life New England website. The Donate Life America organization has the whole nation covered. Vive La Difference

Thought there was talk in Britain, where you only have to declare and carry a card, if you do not want any of your organs to be donnated. Otherwise it would be automatic. Will have to look into that one. I know in Greece, as blood donnation is not exactly properly organised, like everything else, the hospital nurses just go in a patients room at visiting times, and without asking, they tell visitors who goes now, and who is next, for a bottle of blood. And visitors see the need, and just comply, though they never went visiting intending to give any blood. I love nurses and their attitude!

I have registered to be an organ donor; they can have every bit of my body they want. I guess it helps because I'm not religious.  I have benefited from organ donation as I've had a corneal transplant.
