Intermodulation Distortion
Intermodulation Distortion Hey true believers. I always thought that was so cool when Stan Lee would open the commentary of Spider Man ( and other ) comic books with a similar opening. Of course... I was just a stupid . But it has always stuck with me since. I was gonna name this post "Mixed Messages". However, for anyone with a few fingers of forehead could predict -- nobody would read that. But I like readers. And writers. Musicians and just about anyone that can have a thought-say about any piece of art. "Art" is a peculiar thing. For my own self, it includes architecture, use of space ( not necessarily outer-space... we're just not there yet ), somebody's haircut, a piece of clothing or a -ass satchel or backpack, shoes ( a fetish of mine ), literature, music... in fact ANY kind of live performance, paintings, sculptures, sidewalk-chalk, graffiti.. and best, the combination of such things. Brian Eno said something like "art is the appreciation of the fact that, even if you don't like the piece, SOMEbody out there does." I like that idea quite a bit. I pray for it every freaking morning. Just a little bit of "acceptance". Anyway, the only reason I am writing anything is that I read a funny thing today. I shared it with a friend and she insisted that it is NOT funny. That got me thinking about comedy as an art form. I don't know too much about it, but I know what I find funny. It's not funny what is happening just this very minute in the world. But jeeze... a tiny bit of levity can alleviate so much of this gravity. " Her smile had in it something of the intoxication of parched earth after a sudden and furious downpour " -- Henry Miller The Colossus of Maroussi. I sure wish I could write like that! |
