Venting again...

Today has not started out with very good omens. computer is doing some strange things the news is painting the world black with facts nationally as well as worldwide. The economy is going to take a big dive before 2020 throwing this country into even more struggles politically and economically . Where does it all end.
I have been something of a lay historian since High school. As my life has progressed and I look back at the changes I have seen I have come to learn that we all are living in changing times but for most you don't realize just when those changes took place. The biggest changes take decades to come to fruition slowly and start sometimes in rural areas where some people have changes they see as positive for a an entire section of the country but it takes 10, 20 even 50 years before it is heard on a national level. In my mind many come to mind but let's look at just one example, slavery. Many think that was solved with the civil war but it was not just the slavery in question it was our 16th president who started this issue by ending slavery but it took another 100 years before the biggest issue of the war was even addressed, civil rights. This issue has yet to end, To many in this country still have not gotten the message that our one fundamental freedoms is "All men are created equal" that is in the first paragraph of the constitution. People no matter color religion belief should have the right to a decent life Male or female. Female that is another issue. Since the 1920's when women in this country won the right to vote they have struggled to be treated with respect and equality.

If you can see just what I am driving at change takes time and I doubt I will live long enough to see all the changes that have begun during my life. Change will happen no matter what it just takes time. Unfortunately many law makers in Washington DC are to stubborn to see this an have decided things should stay as they are, sorry gentleman your ideas are dead as I am sure you may be when these changes come this is inevitable.
