Alaxander Meets an Indian King
Alaxander Meets an Indian King Alexander's reaction to porous seems historically correct because of the ongoing conflict between Alexander and Darrius. "Unlike Darrius he did not lead the scramble to save his own skin, but so a single unit of his men held together, he fought bravely on" (pg 87 ch.4) This was something that Alexander thought honorable, unlike his counterpart, Darius. Arian praised this quality because the Geeks philosophy was based around honor and courage. Staying on a battlefield, even when faced with defeat, showed pride in your land, unlike Darrius, who showed coward nes by running away,, holding his own life before his people. Purus' reaction ma have swayed Alexander to retreat, but the time it only reinforced his dedication towards Greek and his own culture. Striving for revere in his cause, rather than turning in defeat. |
