Cruising on easy street...well sort of.

So as with all things new it takes a little time to get your footing. While this site generates a lot more traffic on your profile than other sites do, the bulk of this traffic is from fake profiles, institutions and scammers. Arguably this may be a draw for some people. At least when you come to the site your inbox is never empty. But this is probably only good for alleviating one or two days of boredom.

As a software engineer, I am always thinking, what would I do differently if I were building this site? And I guess maybe I should take a whack at building one someday. If I did it, I would probably focus on Mobile first rather than browser first. I would put a lot more capability into filtering out contacts from people based on what is in their profile. And the primary way of checking the site would be push notifications when people that actually express genuine interest. This would be a great time saver IMHO.

At any rate, I have updated my profile once again. Toned down the rant generated from frustration borne out of impedance mismatch and general aggravation at having to play whack-a-mole with fake accounts and their nuisance approaches. There are genuine people here, I am quite certain of that. I am genuine so I know that there is at least one . Seriously though, I have met other genuine people here and some of them are interesting enough that I have been considering moving forward to face to face meet-ups.
