Literary Influences

Our profile name was plagiarized from the Marquis de Sade's literary masterpiece Justine and other bedtime stories. The word Sadomasochism was coined as a result of two authors; the Marquis de Sade, the namesake for sadism and Leopold von Sacher Masoch who wrote Venus in Furs, the first known European text specifically chronicling Masochistic behaviour. Interestingly, all the works by Marquis de Sade were never published in his lifetime. Imprisoned at the Bastile, Marquis the Sade having a lack of writing material, a direct result of the Marquis's infamy and a punishment handed down by the French Court, forced the Marquis to write on toilet paper. This original toilet paper text, along with several others, but not his entire oeuvre were discovered only after his death. His most famous work the 120 days of Sodom ( I will just paste the wikipedia description)

The 120 Days of Sodom, or the School of Libertinage[1] (Les 120 Journées de Sodome ou l'école du libertinage) is a novel by the French writer and nobleman Donatien Alphonse François, Marquis de Sade. Described as both pornographic[2] and erotic,[3] it was written in 1785.[4] It tells the story of four wealthy male libertines who resolve to experience the ultimate sexual gratification in orgies. To do this, they seal themselves away for four months in an inaccessible castle in the heart of the Black Forest[5], with a harem of 36 victims, mostly male and female teenagers, and engage four female brothel keepers to tell the stories of their lives and adventures. The women's narratives form an inspiration for the sexual abuse and torture of the victims, which gradually mounts in intensity and ends in their slaughter.

If you have never read this amazing book, I highly recommend it. I discovered it as an aid to the five finger manifesto while still in high school, a most cherished possession of any pubescent school boy. Justine, a lesser known work but equally eye opening and filled with all the arrows eros can shoot is our preferred text as it is less violent in its conclusion.

I have read all three books and also watched the film "Salo". Very much impressed by that at young age already. Hope to meet some kindred mind...
