MidsummerThoughts2017

Hello, I have found the midsummer of 2017 to be extremely gloomy and depressing. My main goal is to meet a very appealing eligible woman. I have never been married and never even had a steady girlfriend. I find that the local environment of Nassau County on Long Island is quite devoid of the ability to meet any woman that would find me attractive.
I have had many interests over the years including zoology, botany, mineralogy, geology, astronomy, chemistry, physics, ancient history, geography, art history, pencil drawing, bodybuilding, space exploration, photography, electronics, computer science, science fiction, religion, psychology, advanced mathematics, fishkeeping, vegetable gardening, etc.
I have taught myself Russian, German, French, Spanish and Latin in addition to knowing English very well. I have seen probably over 2,500 movies and read that many nonfiction books. My father was an expert in classical music, which I've heard a lot of, as well as a lot of rock, disco, country and jazz music.
I am in effect looking for a soulmate, anyone interested?
Some 50 years ago, starting in the summer of 1967, my family used to vacation in a bungalow colony in the Catskill mountains of New York state near Kerhonkson, NY. We did for the next 5 summers. As a , I became very fascinated with knowing all the insect, amphibian, reptile and other invertebrate species native to the northeastern United States. I used to study about them in books and catch several specimens. My father was an experienced freshwater fisherman who fished for bass, perch, sunfishes and then trout. I did go with him on several fishing trips in southern New York state. I did learn to swim in a small swimming pool there. As a 8 year old, I once almost drowned in 6 feet of water and fortunately, I was rescued by 2 teenagers. I haven't been in a swimming pool since November 1989. I also did some ocean bathing at Field 2 at Jones Beach State Park on Long Island. I vividly recall the taste of the seawater and the huge ocean waves crashing over my head. I haven't been to the beach since the 1980s.
In the years from 1982 to 1990, I kept a small vegetable garden on the west side of my house which didn't do very well, only receiving a small amount of direct afternoon sunshine. The only vegetables which did very well at all were the tomatoes and sunflower plants which grew to be over 8 feet tall in August. It was always fun to harvest and eat most of the vegetables.
I always think of the summers of 1979 to 1981, when I was employed as summer help for the Village of Hempstead's Department of Sanitation and Public Works. I did acquire a lot of experience in mowing lawns, edging grass and trimming shrubs during the summer of 1981. It was often very hard work in the blazing heat of midsummer.
