Smiles then tears

I have been smiling like a cheshire cat for the last couple of days. Why you may ask am I doing that. Well, the army gave my a 3 day pass before they send him out of the country. So, I have been able to see him, talk to him and stuff him with all the good foods that I know he loves and sure isn't going to be seeing much of for the next year plus.

This is when those days FLY by that I mentioned in my earlier blog. It seems he just got here and tomorrow I have to let him go again. THAT is where the tears are gonna come right back in.

More like a deluge or flood so anyone in the near vicinity I highly recommend that you take out flood insurance. This is the 4th time, he is going into harms way for this war. Each time it gets harder and harder. Now if he could just stay in his room, and out of harms way, that would be one thing, but noooooooooo even if he could he wouldn't do that.

I spent a week before he got here cooking all his favorite things, and some new ones. Today we are gonna have his favorite pot roast with potatoes and carrots, gravy and I think I will whip up some of his favorite home made biscuits to go with honey for him. I made a delightful chocolate chip coffee cake that he has manfully munched thru, and a banana split ice cream cake that we have also munched on. I guess thats about all a mom can do is cook, and stuff and stew.

I wish and hope and pray that tomorrow would never come with what is ahead of me. If I could stop time right here and now I would do just that. Unfortunately, as I have learned before, tomorrow ALWAYS comes. Sometimes it comes with joy, but tomorrow it will come with heartache for me.

Hugs Lady. It seems unfair that you're parted from your son for such long period. I'll be thinking of you.

THANK you BOTH for your thoughts and prayers. Today is the day. we leave for the airport in about an hour. I didn't sleep much last night, and my stomach is tied in knots. I know once I get him to the airport it is going to only be that much worse.

Thanks for thinking of me.

I will indeed give him your thanks feeltheneed. This is his 4th time around this merrygoround.

His last deployment, he kept a daily diary as best he could in a combat zone. He did pretty darn good!! I read it thru many tears when he came home.

This time, I have a new idea, he is once again going to keep a diary, but I am also. It's relative to the animal of any military, they are dedicated to the cause, and believe in what they are doing, but they know basically, yeah the Mom, Dad, Sis, Bro, and Wife are going to be lonely and missing you BUT, they honestly do NOT know or realize the rampant swing of emotions, fears, and tears we go thru in their absence.

When he left Wed. I was sick to my stomach all day, and wound up with dry heaves. Watching him walk down that jetway, knowing I am not going to see him for only God knows how long again, and that he is walking into harms way yet again, was just more emotional and difficult than you can ever imagine, unless you are Mom and wear these shoes.

You can have more than one wife/husband lots of sisters, brothers, relatives, BUT you can only have ONE Mother, who gave you life.
