a new piece of art

I am working on a 16" x 20" relief tile, using the beautiful art of Allen Williams...the inspiration drawing is called 'The Clearing' and is special to me as I live in the pacific northwest. Here is his drawing:

And here is what I've done so far....lots more work to do...the headpiece is just roughed in, the background trees need to be done and lots of smoothing of her skin.

I am using what is called Monster clay...it's an oil based clay that never dries out. Sculptors use it to sculpt with and then they make a mold of the piece and cast it, usually many castings, to sell. I have contacted the artist but have not heard back yet so, for now, this is just for me.

Fantastic! Wish I was half the artist you are. Thanks for sharing.

So nice to be insane; no one asks you to explain.

perhaps your talent is getting to 10 different baseball stadiums, with more in the future, I am sure!

I love it, both the original and your rendition. I will have to look up Allen Williams

i love it. You know how much more I would enjoy if you modeled it after yourself and all your sexiness instead.

Trying to tell if that's L.A. Williams other identity.... probably not, but you might like his work, too. That's a lovely reimagining of his work.

I like the rough version... I can feel the motion and I get to fill in the blanks... much more impressionistic in the rough... well done!

Delicious, you have really captured the forms from the drawing.
