Singing The Praises Of A Humble Man. A Poem

You have a way
To console me
When I didn't even know
I needed consoling.
It's like you anticipated
My mood based
On something
Without my knowing
I divulged it.

You are not patronizing
That is never your intent
You simply care
About my well-being
And happiness.

And so when I am stressed
When I am riled up
When I have
A figurative bee
In my bonnet.
You let me vent.
You listen
If I were in your presence
You would surely
Hug me or caress my hand
Knowing instinctively
That such acts
Have a calming effect.

Are you a humble man?
I know that to be the truth.
But I will sing your praises
So get used to it.
Just don't let it
Go to your head!
In other words
Do not change!
Unless it is
For your benefit.
In which case
I can only wish
You the best!.
