Light At The End Of The Tunnel. A Poem

I keep thinking
There is light
At the end of the tunnel.
But the dark
How it can last
Ever so long.
I wonder if the light
Will be too blinding
And I will want
To shut my eyes
Or blink and blink.

Will the light
Be all it was promised?
An end to darkness?
I shudder to think
Another tunnel may appear
Before I am fully adjusted.

A glimpse
A glimmer
A fool's light
It would be then.
Heaven forbid
I were claustrophobic.
My breath might be lost
Before the tunnel
Comes to an end.
The light when it shines again
Would<b> bear </font></b>witness
To my tragic circumstance.
