I did it again... 100 things... five years later...

Okay!!!
I never thought I would do this,
but I did it anyway.
One hundred things about me!
Try and not fall asleep halfway through this.
And if you do,
don't tell me.

The blue was from June 6,2006. Red is now.

(Let's see if the answers still agree.)

1- Sometimes I feel older than dirt.
Yep!!! That one still applies... though surprisingly not as bad as I thought it might be.

2- A minute later I'm acting like a .
I think I'll always will have this quality... at least, I hope so.

3- I love kiddos!
Yes, I still do... though it's sad to say I don't approach a kiddo for fear I'll be arrested as a pervert or something. Shame the trust factor hasn't survived our "politically correct" world.

4- I believe in honesty.
True, perhaps more so today.

5- Having said I believe in honesty, I understand the use of "white" lies every now and then also.
If White lies weren't used on occasion, there would be a lot of very sad people, don't you think?

6- My freckles on my face seem to be getting together for some kind of long term convention, or something! (Or is it age spots? Or working in the sun too long?)This one I can honestly answer... Yes they got together and yes, it was from being in the sun too much. (Though I'm still in the sun quite a lot more now; living at the beach!!!)
7- I believe in God.
And I'm just as comfortable in my beliefs as I ever was.

8- I believe God has a serious sense of humor.
He still lets me hang around. Wonder if He can't figure out just what to do with me? Food for thought, perhaps?

9- I believe we are all here for some sort of reason. (Some of us may just be here cause God wasn't watching what was going on at the moment!)
This still applies.

10- I think any religion is good.
I'm sure any religion is good... and vital.

11- I never try and judge anyone.
I have had my moments like everyone else... but, I still don't judge. Hey, they might judge me!

12- I'm not now or ever been prejudiced.
And I hope I never do.

13- I relate well with people of all ages.
I understand people from forty and up a lot more than I did.

14- I can laugh at myself. (Too often, I get the opportunity to do so!)
If you can't laugh, or make someone else smile and laugh, even at your own expense, believe me, what's the use of staying around. Smile... laugh... please... for your own sake!

15- I believe in love.
Oh yeah...

16- I am in love.
Even more than I ever was. With many the same people and many more new loves. You know it never hurts to tell someone how you feel. I do it often.

17- I want more love. (Can't ever have enough of it.)
Yes, please! May I never get full!

18- I think the song "Imagine" should be played at the beginning of every concert... as a unifying way of musicians and their fans saying "Yes... this is the way it should be."
Still believe. Can you just "Imagine?"

19- I love sports.
I have always considered myself an athlete. Now I consider myself a "retired" athlete. So yes, I still love them.

20- I'm a huge college basketball fanatic. (ACC and Duke! Okay, so JJ got pulled for a DUI. Now he has "everything.)
This time of year, I'll watch perhaps ten or more a week. And Duke is still the greatest... even when they don't win everything.

21- I believe in giving of myself.
You never know when even just a smile is exactly what someone needed right at that moment.

22- I am the one people have always come to when they needed to talk with someone, or just needed a shoulder to cry on. (Even as a it was like that.)
They still come... and I still care.

23- I don't believe in racism.
And I still don't.

24- I don't believe in hurting someone out of spite.
That's the kind of stuff that will come back to bite you. Don't ever go there if you don't have to do so.

25- I wash myself in the shower the same way every time. (Unless I'm not alone! That almost never happens though.)
Still the same! Hmmm, am I in a rut or something?

26- I dry myself in the same method every time. (Unless again, if I'm not alone.)
I don't have to dry the top of my head quite as much as I used to do. Ah well....

27- I have been seduced by someone thirty years younger than myself. (It was her idea... really! Who am I to argue? We're still good friends... though not that kind of friends.)
Though we haven't seen each other for several years, I'm sure we are still friends.

28- Oh! When drying after a shower, I never dry my wrists or hands! That gets taken care of while drying the rest of me.Same
29- I work out on a regular basis now. (And it's starting to really show! Yippee!!!)
Thanks to this, I am still the same weight as I have been for the last five years... giving a one or two pound fluctuation every now and then. I probably should do more than just "maintain."

30- I have names for the hair on top of my head. (The big head, that I mostly think with!) Sam, Pete, John, Paul, Bill, James, Sue (!!!???!!) Yep, in touch with my feminine side! I figure if they decided to hang around after so many others deserted me, I might as well get to know them personally.
I am saddened to say a few have passed on. They were true and loyal to the end.

31- I am actually the quiet one in my family.
That seems to be my lot in my family. Though for those who know me and not my family would wonder.

32- My sense of humor is weird... and I'm quick with one liners, if I'm comfortable around you.
I'm not Robin Williams; but, we would understand each other and feed off the other very easily.

33- I love the ocean.
That's why I live where I live. Oddly enough, I think it's snowed more than it did where I lived before. That wasn't in the contract when we bought our home here.

34- I can sit and stare at the ocean all day and never get tired of the view.
This is still true... but I use a lot more suntan lotion now.

35- I love sunrises and sunsets.
And almost every moment in between. (Especially with coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening. Or a Coke Zero!)

36- I am a hopeless romantic.
Yes, I still am. I couldn't have written half the things I've written if I wasn't.

37- I rarely think with my "little" head. (Though I hear it shouting at me quite often!)
Like in the movie, "White Men Can't Jump" I can still hear
Jimmy... though I think he thinks I don't like him anymore.

38- I absolutely love sex.
I'm not dead yet... so this is still true. Maybe one day soon it'll be back in my life again. I wonder if writer's blog is somehow related to this?

39- I believe in finding out what my partner enjoys beforehand...by asking questions...(try it! It's really fun to do!) and then trying to make sure they enjoy our time together.
Still believe it and every time I've done this, the experience has been great.

40- I don't really care for one-night stands.
No, I don't care for them. But, if that's all that's offered...

41- There is a lot of "me" in every poem I write.
I wonder if this is true of every writer? It is of me. You can literally "read me like a book."

42- I still would like to try to get published some day. (Do you think I'm crazy to try... or not?)
Still haven't given up on this.

43- This number makes me smile.
Yes it still does... no matter where I see it.

44- Family is always first with me.
Yes, even more so, I think.

45- My friends are like "family" to me. (So now you know how important I place our friendship!)
I like to think of my friends as "forever" friends.

46- I love to have my coffee. (I only allow myself two cups though these days.)
Well, I have three now! lol!

46- I enjoy a good white wine.
This is on special occasions now. Sugar isn't a friend, alas. Though I still will have a glass or two when that occasion does come along.

47- Collecting and listening to music is my hobby.
Still collecting!

48- I've known Senators, musicians, professional athletes, famous reporters, famous authors and speakers, Governors, and some of the older nascar drivers. (Some still active in their professions... others, long past.)
This is still true... and some new younger professionals in their sports.

49- I served my country during Vietnam.
Yes, I did. And at times, those haunting thoughts still capture my mind.

50- I believe in making someone smile everyday.
And I will believe in this as long as I live. You have to do this people... you'll feel great and hopefully, someone else will, too!

51- I absolutely believe in "hugs." (Most all my friends greet me with a hug... male or female.)
In these last two, I am truly blessed.

52- I can say now (my last just graduated) that I have never had a moment of real trouble from my . I'm very proud of who they are... and what they will someday be.
And I can now say that one is now a college grad... with honors! I do understand a proud parents role.

53- I love my wife. (Though I wish she could find her sexual self again.)
I pick and kiss and hug her everyday. (Up til she says enough!) Then I probably tickle and pick some more.

54- I love to read.
You gotta get a Kindle!!!! Wow!!!

55- Obviously, I love to write!
I do! I know I'll work through this someday.

56- I blush when someone compliments me.
Yes, still do!

57- I am actually quite shy. (That stems from a speech and hearing impediment I had as a . No longer a problem... since I can cover it very well.)
Still covering, doesn't seem to be much worse.

58- I still feel I have a tremendous amount of things I want to accomplish in my life.
Now, I feel time is slipping away from me.

59- I can't ever imagine me "retiring."
I still can't... though I am. However, being active is the key to survival.

60- My work, profession, is my life. It's who I am.
My work made me the person I am in many ways. No all work can do that for a person. I looked forward to working almost every single day. I really wasn't work to me.

61- If there's one person I would love to meet, it may well be Rod McKuen. What a fantastic writer!)
He honored me with a few personal e-mails. I still enjoy his site, "A safe place to land." Go there and check him out.

62- I thrills me to see someone that cares about me, look and smile my way... or touch me when they pass by me.
I seems I can still remember every single smile and touch. Good memories.

63- I am a more sensual lover than anything else.
Given the time, I just love exploring just what it takes to see a smile, and hear a wondering sigh or grown in delight or satisfaction.

64- I don't know why I decided to do this tonight. I had planned on writing the beginning chapters to a book. (Does that mean I'm procrastinating here?)
Five years later and I'm still asking myself the same question!

65- I do not like seeing others being taken advantage of. This is something I just can't abide.
66- I will give you the shirt off my back if you need it. (And actually have done so.)
This has cost me several shirts, not to mention money. Still, would do it again, if I had to do it again.

67- I hate hate.
And I can't believe it when I see people revel in it. There just isn't enough room for that in my life.

68- I love love... and being in love... and being loved.Who doesn't?
69- The year I graduated high school. (My class ring used to start up many interesting conversations in bars.) You thought I would say something about this number, didn't you? Go ahead... admit it! (Well, I did think about it, too! )
Don't wear the class ring; but still get knowing smiles whenever I say when I graduated.

70- I just love the last number and all it stands for!!! (See! I told you I thought about it.)
Oh... I sure do!

71- I once worked undercover.
True, I did. I had no idea how much trouble I could have been in, had I only taken a few steps further.

72- I detest crossword puzzles. (My wife does them in ink.)It's one of my new year's revolution. No crossword puzzles!
73- I wear a 34" belt. (Hey! That's not bad considering my weight has increased now to 204 lbs. and some tell me I still look like I'm losing weight!)
Okay, my belt is a 36-38, and I've held at 207 for the last five years. And I still look slimmer than I did.

74- I drink at least one hundred ounces of water a day.
This is one of the keys to my health.

75- I am considered very good at my profession.
It's nice to know that in some small way I was able to help people in their lives... and be remembered for it.

76- I am a night person. (It's two-thirty a.m. right now.)Most nights I only sleep about four to five hours. That's about a two increase from years gone by.
77- I don't like wasting time. (Though I do it more than I care.)Wasting time is something I still don't like. I try and keep myself busy.
78- My shoulders are pretty broad. And if you need one, it's there for you.
They are open to anyone... anytime.

79- I have been blessed with more than one love in my life.Looking back, I wouldn't have it any other way.
80- Yep, I admit it... "Brian's Song" "Love Story," and most emotional endings or happy endings, can draw a tear from me.Even more so these days.
81- I thoroughly enjoy watching at play.
The thought, "Stop and smell the roses..." should also mention to take the time and watch the kiddos at play. What a special time of life. There should always be time for kiddos to be safe and happy... and innocent.

82- I dislike mind games. (Trust me, I know how to play them if I have to... but... I really don't like them at all.)
There's a lot of that here. Understandable I guess. Still doesn't make them the best thing to do though.

83- One of my greatest honors ever... was being a close friend with my father... and my brothers.
Now, that honor also extends to my grown up . Knock on wood... hope it always continues.

84- I would like to visit Palma, Spain again someday.
Still on my thing to do list. (Or is it a bucket list these days?)

85- Blogland has given me a whole new lease on life. (That's because of all the incredible people here.)
Though I haven't been around here as much as I used to be; I still think there are some pretty incredible people here.

86- Yes, I have dark moments like anyone else. The difference in mine I think... I don't let them overtake me anymore... and I don't dwell on them.
I don't live in a "what's in it for me?... or if I can cause some drama" type frame of mind. What's the point? There are too many other good, and fun things to do. Smiles take up too much time... and they are so easy to give.

87- I am "not" a saint. (Obviously, I'm here, aren't I?) Though my life sexually is that of a monk.
Still holds true... though somehow less frantic. Does that make sense?

88- Do I think about sex often? Are you kidding? What kind of question is that? Am I still breathing?
It's said a man thinks about sex every three minutes. That may well be true... no matter the age!

89- I have been involved in a foursome! Or was it just two twosomes in the same bed? Or was I just playing golf?
I have, it's called "same room sex." Or I could have been playing golf in a foursome format. lol!

90- Tom Clancy is brilliant in my opinion. (And way too close to the truth, too many times.)
Wayyyy tooooo close!!!!

91- I don't have a favorite musician... or type of music. I enjoy almost all of them. (Well, bluegrass... is one I have to really work at to enjoy.)
If you have to have one or a group... I'll go The Beatles. They just did so much to change and leave a lasting impression on music.

92- I do love looking at a beautiful woman. (No matter what her age.... legally that is.)
Interesting for me, the old joke that "He traded his wife in for two twenty year olds... " doesn't work for me. I can admire a woman from her seventies down to her thirties. Twenty something year olds just don't do it for me.

93- I had an eighteen year old this past summer tell me she would love to "do" me. (While I did consider it a wonderful compliment from her, I declined... begging her to ask me again in five or six years. She promised she would.)
She hasn't. Perhaps she forgot. We both have moved since then. It was still a kind compliment and I do and did appreciate it.

94- Belly buttons are "sexy as hell" to me. (But the first thing that attracts me is usually the eyes... then the smile.)But the belly button! It's just cute and sexy!!!!
95- I used to love to dance to live bands. (Wonder why I got away from the nightclub scene?)
Still enjoy a good live band. Living at the beach makes seeing more live bands easier to do.

96- Dr. Johnnie Fever (tv series "WKRP") and I think alike. I really never, ever liked "Disco."
And I never will.

97- If it were possible for me to do, I would love to meet each and every one of my friends here in blogland.
I'd have them all here at the house, and we'd sit on the back deck with good wine and fine food and just enjoy. Yeah, that would be nice.

98- I am not a jealous husband. (Though I've known several.)Thankfully, I'm not. Being jealous just takes away... it doesn't add a thing to life.
99- My favorite part of sex is "not" my own orgasm... it's yours! Why can't some people understand this? It's so much better this way.
AND 100!- If you were to ask me a question, I will try always to give you an honest answer, whether it's what you want to hear or not.
I've answered this and will answer your questions as well as I can.

That's just me, I guess. Does this technically mean I have now answered "two hundred" things now? hugs y'all... me
