To all my friends...

I want to thank each of you who wished me well this past weekend. I hope you will forgive me just lumping all of you together here. When you read the rest, I think or hope you understand.

It was a weekend of many hugs. Some safe and warm... while others needed and cherished.

It was a weekend of sharing with others the joy, and the sadness of saying good-bye to a loved one. Though I choose to never say good-bye... still, I will miss their wisdom, their love, their calming effect they had over me. And I will miss their smiles.

Yes, as you may well have guessed by now, I was at another service for another friend. My heart hurts. That's about as simply as I can put it. But it hurts for the ones they left behind... as it hurts for myself, also. It doesn't hurt anymore for them; because I know they are no longer in pain. And someday, I know I will see them again.

In reality... there wasn't just one service... there were three. All beautiful and kind people. Two were loved very much by me... one, a friend. None knew the other. Their only link was through me and my family. Perhaps they have gotten to know one another now. I would like to think so.

I am now at the age of seeing this happen more and more to my friends and loved ones. (I don't know why I say it that way, "my friends, ARE my loved ones.") Each friend... each family member... holds a very special place inside. I try always to honor each and every one of them.

I searched this weekend, both within and out. And I found myself to be all right with the way things are. I am at peace right now, so don't feel the need to worry. Things are as they are, and I will make it through. Besides, there are others who are still on my prayer list, and I am going to double my efforts with them.

I wished for each of you the most perfect weekend. I hope that it was. Mine might not have been the most perfect... but I was surely surrounded by love... and for now, that was more than enough.

Again, thank you for your understanding and patience with me.
