What are your favorite television shows?

“Somebody has to kill the babysitter.” The Cable Guy (1996)

The idiot box, the boob tube… I am a man of words, literature, the arts; I have long since lost any erudite learnings that could be applied towards the sciences, though I value such advancements, I consider philosophy, history etc. Sometimes I dare to think of myself as a student of Le Marquis de Sade only not nearly as mad; the concept of love along with or opposed to human sexuality is fascinating, so is the exploration of nature, the universe, and everything it contains, my current leanings being towards the study of self, my own ambiguity, and the most absorbing, the idea of BDSM especially Sadism.

With this all being said “I Want My MTV”… literally; I have yet to turn my back on the musicians of the current age, though I have a theory. I know of some such as The Rembrandts, Phantom Planet, Daniel Powter, among others who allowed their tunes to become television themes and then lo and behold the downslide of their careers. Witnessing such results, would it be terribly inconvenient for someone for instance Justin Bieber or Taylor Swift, to let one of their songs be made into a television melody… anyway I digress. Some music… when MTV actually plays any speaks to me

“I'm a of the movies Fish” Deep Impact

I consider my viewership fairly well rounded, sci-fi, sitcoms, some documentaries to name a few; I even watch reality programs to be sure, as of late “Are You The One” and the “WWE” though I have yet to purchase the WWE Network. When it comes to the classics, I speak mainly of “The Twilight Zone” or 1957’s “Abandon Ship”; TV-14, TV-MA, LSV in a show might have a chance, though I have watched a lot less, thank you oh so very much World Wrestling Entertainment.

I need stories, be they true or false but between truth and legend I prefer legend; I suppose to me the world is exactly what it is and perhaps I need time to forget, which in all honesty explains the rise of Reality TV. Speaking of which, the study of the human condition… most concern themselves with celebrities and I can claim to be no different except in regards to who they might be, a person mentions a certain event or name and I suppose it is different for everybody what we give notice to

Where sex and horror are the new Gods?” Two Tribes ~ Frankie Goes To Hollywood

As for the shows I dislike, what exactly is the criteria… with the assault on the human psyche or at least its continual dumbing down, I’m pleased to say I don’t watch nay can’t watch everything. One thing I find quite easy to avoid is most sports with the exceptions of professional wrestling, the Super Bowl, and the Olympics.

I currently reside in Alabama, my younger sister went to Alabama and I had a cousin who went to Auburn and I could care less about football. Same goes for basketball, baseball, hockey, golf, and so many other competitive pursuits and while I have no problem with games and the like, my inquisitive nature fails to see any knowledge gleamed from such.

“A plague o' both your houses!” William Shakespeare

Weirdly enough I will watch sport movies, seen the first five “Rocky” films, “Varsity Blues” but then again there are stories there, much like wrestling and the Olympics, and the Super Bowl is as if having all the spoilers to football. If you want to know a secret, while I think most if not all religion is detrimental to society, I quite enjoy Christian cinema, give me a pretty girl, the slightest idea of sex, and a story… “Maggie’s Passage”, “Healed By Grace”, In The Blink of An Eye”.

Daystar was once a staple of my Saturdays.

Last but not least would be anime, for the most part Japanese anime and I think I have referenced it often enough Hentai. To this day I still make it a habit to watch Charlie Brown and I keep up with The Simpsons to a point. “Rahxephon” has to be an all-time favorite of mine, with “Blue Gender” and “Cowboy Bebop”

So many shows yet to name, ignorance can be bliss
