What if? number two

You attend a party and a couple of weeks later you find you have been infected with a STD. What do you do?

Contact the host immediately, everyone in attendance must be informed and treated.

So let me throw a wrinkle in here, lets say it comes back as HIV. You have it but your partner does not have it. What do you do?

Whoever did the test would be required to inform the state health authories about a positive. There is protocal and the postive person will be screaned to determine who they have had contact with. This is not the time for secrets or lies.

Honesty is the best policy, as it is with most things in life.

Very true. But lets say you test positive but your partner doers not. What do you do then?

You tell your partner, stop unprotected sex and get a second test. There are false positives.

Clearly we have to tell the host, and anyone else who you may know.

Yes, the state and CDC will be informed....and you will most likely need to do more testing to confirm.
