Gettin' Real...
I think the existence of that expression "The guy who dies with the most toys wins" and the sheer volume of those who embrace such a shallow, superficial philosophy is ample proof American society is headed down a road far too similar to the one antiquity's Roman Empire took, and look what it got them.

Nor will I change my attitude to "go with the flow". Last time I checked, I'm a MAN, not a lemming.

The guy who dies with the most toys hasn't won SQUAT, and guess what? He's still worm chow.

My contrary point of view is...
"Extremist"
beneath contempt
a sign I need to lay off the caffeine a bit
is respected
has merit
