Philosophy of the Vibrator (or Why Pandering to an Audience Leads to Multiple Posts in A Day) Years ago, I pondered on the deeply philosophical subject of the vibrator. To be more precise, I pondered on why the great State of Texas refuses to allow adults to buy vibrators. I developed a<b> philosophy </font></b>of the vibrator that addresses just that dilemma. Why is it that the state government in Texas chooses to restrict the sale of vibrators to those 21 and up? Do they lead to more deaths on the roadways with the inexperienced riders between the ages of 18 and 21? It was the argument MADD successfully used for alcohol prohibition in that age group, so it was a starting point. Doesn't seem to pan out, though, as it goes back further and there is no evidence that anyone got into accidents let alone caused fatalities due to inexpert vibrator use and driving. Is it a morally based objection upon which the state has attached its decision regarding vibrators? I remember the story of Sodom and Gomorrah, the excesses and the smiting, but I don't remember the use of anything similar in the scene that was set. The debauchery was in the lines of indulging in every partner, male, female, bovine, canine, vegetable or mineral that was available, not use of a substitute for pre- or extra-marital sex. Perhaps they had an in with the dildo industry and didn't want to lose out to the new fangled vibrators? As they don't allow anyone under 21 to go into the section of the store with the vibrators, dildos, lubrication, magazines and videos, this seemed another unlikely avenue. This led me to wonder why anyone would want to limit a woman's right to explore her own sexuality. The eureka bulb went off. If a woman learns what she does and does not enjoy, she will build expectations in a sexual partner that will not be met by the age range of our legislative branch. (Regardless of the rumors of the president's virility, I doubt he could keep up with a 20 something who had explored her sexuality from age 18. Most are older and not in as good shape.) If you have control over a woman's sexuality until she turns 21 instead of 18, you have a better chance of molding her into the sexually passive and expectation-less individual you as an older man could marry just to turn her in for the newest of said models when she gets a little older. Why can't women of 18 buy vibrators in Texas? Because the old pervs in charge don't want them to learn to enjoy sex and avoid the sexual ineptitude of old men in power positions. Who wouldn't try to keep all of the young women sexually passive so they have greater choices and options? Only men with moral fiber to resist the temptation. No wonder the laws haven't changed here. Nice one, deb. I always wondered about that law, but then we don't have an excessive amount of illegal trafficing either. The reason: Even the old conservative men need to acquire a dildo to avoid headlines involving an improper proposal in an airport bathroom to an undercover cop. But Texas Congress finally acknowledged the existence of the female orgasm. Which was considered to be myth until 1987. Progress. Thanks, deb.

Great blog...and although probably done tongue-in-cheek.....right on the mark! Men want to control women's bodies...and their rights to control their own bodies...because they are terrified of being found out for the inept cretins they are! The middle eastern misogynists who desperately want to control every aspect of a woman's life are scared to death of women!
