Redheads...how I love'em!

Everyone has preferences, some are stronger than others, bit we all have them.

One that I have been aware of all my life is my strong attraction for redheads. I think I can trace it back to my first crush, my original love(except for my mother, of course)! I have been thinking about this recently for she just passed last year at the age of 80.

I met her when my favorite uncle brought her home to introduce her to the family as his new bride. It was instant love at first sight! Long flowing hair that looked like a burnished copper penny in the sun ( a sight I got to see seldom, for she avoided the sun religiously). Her skin tone, pure cream from head to toe! A very light dusting of freckles about her nose, a few more on her neck,

I was six....and my uncle had just gotten his draft notice (the "police action" was raging in Korea)! He told everyone he had not even opened it, but had gone straight to the US Navy recruiting office and enlisted, then picked up my new aunt and told her they were getting married!

Quickly, arrangements were mad for her to live with us while he went off to war.....and my love affair with redheads began!

She stayed with us for the two years my uncle served in Japan and surrounding waters and was my favorite companion. I'm not sure that she felt the same way, though! I distinctly remember a comment she made correcting my grandmother when she exasperatingly referred to me as " a Tom Sawyer in the making"! Aunt Lois said "Nope, he's pure Huck Finn!" and rolled her eyes at me! I didn't understand then, but I couldn't wait to read the book.....I think I get it!

When my uncle returned, he took my first love to his new home Gainesville and I was forced to find another. So began my philandering ways.....luckily she came just in time!

And she was also a redhead! This time in the form of a lanky, freckled- allover tomboy just 5 years older than me. She didn't avoid the sun at all!
She was always in shorts and a skimpy halter top (skimpy didn't matter, she was so scrawny she could have run around topless). She assumed ti babysitting duties....my Mom was busy running her grocery store and Dad was always off somewhere on another construction site busy building his business. We were constantly together when not in school...reading, playing with my baby sisters, doing a few light chores (I fed the animals, she did the milking) and swinging the girls, sometimes taking a turn, sometimes pushing me! And changing diapers...more diapers than you could imagine!

But things changed a lot the next year....that lanky tomboy started changing! She now needed a much more substantial top to contain what I was beginning to sneak peeks at....especially since she didn't know about the knot in the rear of the showerstall that could be removed by tugging on a nail.! That cedar lined stall had a common wall with the closet in my room and every time she went for a shower, I made a beeline for that closet.

That is where my lust and love melded into a lifelong pursuit of that special breed of woman...the redhead!

There before my eyes did appear, not a skinny tomboy, but a slowly emerging beauty with freckled shoulders fading to less freckled but now fully developed breasts reacting to the stream of water pouring over them (OMG...her nipples are sticking straight out, and she's moving her finger over and around them)!

And those long skinny legs don't look so skinny, just long and curved running up to.....Whoa!, when did her flat fanny start looking so...so nice and round!

Then my eyes dropped to a sight that just floored me. She had hair down there, where her thing is....and it's redder than the hair on her head! Not the same red at all, a deeper, fire red.....And a religious reference came to me, and remains to this day....I have seen a burning bush with mine own eyes!

Over the next two years I watched as she grew even lovelier, began to lose that tomboyish walk and more. She began to date. And the guy she set her sights on was my older seventeen year old cousin....a smart-ass. know-it-all with a motorcycle! But miracles do happen...they do!

He decided to go to Mobile where his father was working and get a job!

Halelujah!

Then....she ran off with him!

My first broken heart, but not my last!

To be cont.
