The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Today is the day,, Veterans Day and Remembrance Day. I know that I and several other bloggers have been hitting on this day fairly hard the last couple days, but frankly this is to me the most important “celebratory day” we have. I am guessing that there are viewers and watchers that want to do something but are not sure what they can do. I am suggesting the program below. Myself and many of my contemporaries have benefited from it and proudly do what we can to help others through this program. Below is a “cut and paste” from their website to give you a general idea what it is. Your support can be anything from monetary , to visiting , cheering on at events,, etc.. Ok, back off the soap box Provided for your consideration. And for folks not in the States, I think you probably have something similar in your country, feel free to share it here if you do. Purpose: To raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members. To help injured service members aid and assist each other. To provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members. Core Values: WWP staff work to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded warriors in our nation's history. Fun Integrity Loyalty Innovation Service Who is eligible? Wounded Warriors who incurred service-connected injuries or illness on or after September 11, 2001 are eligible for the WWP Alumni program. No dues here - you paid those on the battlefield. Family SupportFamily Support When a warrior faces challenges, the family experiences those challenges along with their warrior. We support family members who suddenly find they are serving as full-time supporters or caregivers. Give Back You can help Wounded Warrior Project ® honor and empower Wounded Warriors by hosting a Proud Supporter event, volunteering your time, sending a Thank You note to an injured service member, and much more. That project is similar to ours but not to the extent that yours group is running. They have a veterans return to work group that meets all the time to help our veterans get back to normal life.
