Is there any excuse, in these days of almost total communication, for failing to tell someone that you will not arrive at an arranged meet?

I accept that people can change their minds, even right at the last second, but surely the courtesy of a text or phone message would not be too much to ask.

It would save a lot of wasted time for lots of people

 Nothing more frustrating than lack of communication. Even worse if you have been with the person before. I would rather know the truth than be left hanging. I've always said that but some take the easy way out and disapear. Better luck in the future sexy.
