An old classic ... reborn???

Circle of hands
Cold spirits plan
Searching my land for an enemy
Came across love's sweet cost
And in the face of beauty
Evil was lost

On my way home from work today I stopped at a 7-11 to buy a pack of smokes. As usual I was playing a CD from my collection because the radio stations around here always seem to play the same music over and over all the time. As I was pulling into the 7-11 I had Uriah Heep's "Demons and Wizards" playing (maybe a little too loud ) with the window open. A group of teenagers where hanging out in front of the store. When they heard "Easy Living" they started "bopping" around. I got out of my car a couple of them asked me to leave the music playing while I was in the store so I left the window partially open locked the car and took my remote for the doors and went into the store. When I came out the whole group was gathered around the car intently listening to Uriah Heep. I know!!!! ... I was surprised as hell ... 15 and 16 year-olds actually enjoying 40 year-old music!!! They asked me what this music was and where they could download it!!! When I told them the music was nearly three times as old as they are, they didn't believe me. Sometime the these days really surprise the the hell out of me!!!!

We can't be together ... If you can't handle my weirdness, sarcasm, stupid jokes and my tendency to laugh at almost everything.

That's what surprised me so much yesterday!! They really seemed to get into the lyrics of "Circle Of Hands". The first verse is at the top of the post... Maybe it was more about the way Uriah Heep's vocals are sort of singing and sort of reciting poetry ... but they really liked it...

My teenage grandkids actually like some of the music they hear in my car lol. Most of it is pretty old too!!

It really is kind of amazing how at some point they will appreciate and maybe even enjoy something that at an earlier age they wouldn't even give a chance to, isn't it?
