Overkill

I am a high performance car nut. But that is ok. I see many others more addicted than me. I have a very small car collection, just one exotic Mustang in addition to my daily drive.

I tried to buy a replacement for my 2011 Mustang that is getting on in years and mileage. The dealers frustrated this purchase. So I ended up fixing up my car for another two years of service. $3,000 worth of upgrades and I should be good for two years. The good news is the depreciation at this point is minimal. In two years I will lose only about $3,000 in resale value.

By then I will seek a used 2020 Shelby GT500 with about 750 HP and an auto transmission. The truth is the new auto trans can shift so fast and well that a manual is much slower than the auto version. Also easier to drive in congested conditions.

I don't overpay for my addiction. No add on markups for me. Just have to be patient. Good things happen to those who wait.
