Idiocy in Immigration Court
Idiocy in Immigration Court The crazy immigration system keeps getting crazier. Now the DHS refuses to terminate cases of removal when the alien has married a U.S. citizen and the USCIS approves the I--130 petition, meaning the marriage is deemed real. The result is the IJ has the only jurisdiction to adjust status so the alien can get a green card. What is the problem? There are only about 260 Immigration judges, and they have a 540,000 case backlog. Which means each judge has over 2,000 cases on the docket. Their priority should be removing serious felons and domestic violence abusers. Wasting time on adjusting status delays the other cases. When you make all cases a priority, nothing is a priority. |

Exactly. I'm rolling my eyes at these people. You know that new judges were not appointed because no one would approve of them last time, and no one will nominate them, this time! kk The observant make the best lovers, I may not do right, but I do write, I have bliss, joy, and happiness in my life, Kitkat Come check out my blog KItkat1415 check out this post by me Adventures In Body Grooming #39 April Topic Link: What Lies Beneath If April Showers Oh Bloody Hell What Kind Of Weather Turns Me On Bloggers Symposium 40

DHS claims it wants to hire another 250 Immigration judges in a year or two. That time frame is basically impossible even if the money was appropriated for it to occur. Plus you need a courtroom, DHS attorneys, translators, defense lawyers and the whole clerk, file room and digital recording system. Not something you can do over nite.
