Ted Cruz, not a natural born citizen?

I have been reading a number of articles that suggest Ted Cruz does not meet the US Constitution requirement for being a natural born citizen. The problem has many facets.

In the 18th century the citizenship of the man was the only one considered. Ted has the problem that his father was a Cuban citizen and they were living in Canada when he was born. His mom was the US citizen, but may have given up her US citizenship for Canadian.

A strict construction based on the original intent in 1789 would lead to Ted not being considered a natural born US citizen from birth, even if he is a citizen. The law was changed to allow a baby born of a mom or dad who is a US citizen to be a citizen from birth, but still not be eligible as a natural born citizen to become US president.

The US Supreme Court may not decide this issue in time for the election...

Ted is very smart and ambitious but he may not be eligible.... Trump is now raising the issue seriously....

 I have no problem with politicians or any and all parties taking each other out. It shows what they really are. Power hungry and without integrity.
When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

 But his mom may have not been a US citizen when he was born....
