Why sex is the best basis for a relationship In the old days, before MTV for example, some psycho-babbler was always advising not to base a relationship on sex, as the interest in sex would fade with time. Well my interest in sex has not faded, it seems to have increased! So what is a better basis for an intimate relationship? Money, status, shared values, hobbies, , appearance? All of those things are nice, but they change over time and not always for the better. The grow up and hopefully leave home to create their own lives. Money comes and goes. Hobbies change. Appearances generally do not improve, though working out and exercise helps! So I guess I will stick with sex as the best basis for an intimate relationship. That my interest, and I am sticking with it.

Chemistry. It is natural that the chemistry fades through time. There have been studies done and as time passes, we get less excited about our partner. Yet a new person really gets us going! It's biological. Cruel but true. So if you want a relationship to LAST, you need to have sex along with other thigns going for it. Because sex alone is a poor glue. It is however a good thing to have in a relationship.

Sex makes a great glue, that is why that Rolling Stones album was called "Sticky Fingers" as I recall!
