Random Thoughts On Our 7th Anniversary.

Eve And I On Our Wedding Night...January 24th, 2005

In 5 more days (January 24th, 2012) it’s Eve’s and my 7th wedding anniversary. How much things have changed since the day we met still amazes me.
Even as I was planning the trip to the Philippines for our wedding, Baby Bush’s economy was starting to have a negative effect on my business.
By the time Eve got to the USA (480 days AFTER we were married) I was making considerably less that I had just a year before…and now I had the added responsibility of caring for her. She came to this country with one small suitcase and a carry on bag…that’s all she had in the world, that plus a serious lack of health and dental care.
We lived in Florida, had a beautiful home that fronted a huge nature preserve. I had a Corvette and a Harley…lots of nice things and a good income. Not so anymore…but now I get home every night…get to see her and The Kitty and Princess every day. That’s what really matters.
We now live in a rented duplex…it’s a dump but at least it’s cheap. I drive a rusted out 89 Econoline and an 86 Jeep…both vehicles together with full tanks of gas aren’t worth half of what just the tires and wheels that I had on my Vette were worth and while I miss the Vette and the Harley…and really miss Florida the important thing is Eve and I are still together, and I think we are both happy.
I really believe though, that Eve will hit the lottery some day. When she does, we’ll buy an old bus that’s had the RV conversion and pack The Kitty and Princess up and off we’ll go. Maybe in a year or so we’ll decide to buy a place again…somewhere warm…Tucson or San Antonio come to mind…and of course we’ll need a Big bike and a nice house with a very LARGE garage.
Just some random thoughts on a night headed for a low of -17 degrees.

Thanks for your comments...Yes, it is nice to come home to her (And The Kitty and Princess too of course) everyday. Far nicer than any material thing I could have.

Congratulations on your anniversary! You do look so very happy in the picture....I wish I could blame it all on the government, but in reality, each of us needs to take responsibility for what happens to us. Cutbacks, drawdowns to the military, budget cuts, etc. We know they are coming, yet so many do nothing to prepare for this. It's horrible to see how it effects the nation, but we vote for these people and keep them in office. I know I take responsibility because I didn't vote in the last election. I just think it's important for us to keep ourselves informed of what laws get passed, etc.

Okay, off my soapbox...just wanted to say again, congratulations!
Your right...but some of our politicians are worse than others. I guess it's tough for them too, to get elected they got to pander themselves for the votes.

Desire-a stranger you think you know; Intimacy-a lie we tell ourselves; Never stop looking for lust.

It's hard, I know, I've been there. I once had a great job that went away when the manufacturing industry tanked here in MI. For as long as I've been an adult, I've always driven new vehicles, lived in a new house, worn the best clothes. After losing my job, then leaving my husband, that security I once had is gone. It's likely I'll be driving my current car until it dies. I'm renting a crappy apartment that I can barely afford, and I definitely don't have the luxury of going on the spending sprees I used to go on. But, I'm happy, and that's worth it.

Congratulations on your wedding anniversary!! You guys look very happy together! That is worth way more than any 'stuff' could ever be.
I think Baby Bush's economy put a lot of folks in similar situations...I guess we're both lucky though, many have it a whole lot worse.
