Making the most of this site, whether you're a free member or a paid one Making the most of a membership on this site, especially if you're a FREE member: Assuming you actually want to meet someone in real life, you need to treat this like a marketing effort. Why should I look at (and then hopefully send a message) to your profile vs. someone else's? Get my attention! - Write something in your profile! "Ask me" is a complete waste of my time. Don't be so freakin' lazy! Surely you have SOMETHING to say--an opinion regarding whom you seek: Their age, race, height, distance, singles vs. couples, cyber only vs. in-person, race, straight/bisexual, beards, pubic hair vs. shaved, oral, anal, bondage, spanking, etc. Express it! Why are you here? What do you want? What DON'T you want? I shouldn't have to ask you! Look at other people's profiles, you'll see great examples to emulate, and terrible ones that could inspire you to do far better. Write whole words in whole sentences, don't be lazy or obscure. If I can't understand you, or you come across as someone who just doesn't care how you appear to the world, I'm gone. Would you leave the house looking like you don't care about your appearance? Then make your profile presentable, too! - Update your profile! When I see "I'm a 45 year old" in the text but the system displays their age as 52, then it's clear to me that they haven't updated their profile in SEVEN YEARS! - Post a photo! Even one that's cropped only to show your eyes or your smile is better than no photo. If you have issues with how you look, go deal with that. Yes, I get that you can't post a photo showing your whole face if you're a teacher or public figure or a cheating spouse. You could still post a cropped one. - Start making "blog posts" (My Stuff->Add A Blog Post)! Do you have an opinion about stuff on this site? This is where you can express your creativity, rant about the obnoxious messages you've received, rave about that toe-curling spanking or licking your lover gave you, etc. You don't have to be a great writer. Also, put a link to your blog into your main profile text, and give your blog a more interesting name than "Username's blog." Why bother? You'll give people visiting your profile some additional things to read and learn about you, you may spark visitors to write comments, and your profile will probably be shown more often around the site. - Read other people's blogs. Comment on what they've written. - The more often you visit the site and click around, the more you'll be shown to other members on the site. Even Reloading/Refreshing the web page will count as "being active." If you want to automate this, search for a browser extention that will Refresh a web page for you every few minutes. I use "Auto Refresh Plus" for Google Chrome, and set it to 120 seconds (every 2 minutes). - Open the Instant Messenger (IM) window and leave it open. This is one way that free members can talk to other members on the site. - Look at the members who View you, Flirt with you, and Hotlist you. They might be worth the effort to contact, or at least Flirt or Hotlist back. Unfortunately, some of those "Views" may be triggered by the other person merely waving their mouse around and briefly hovering over your photo, and not actively clicking or expressing interest in your profile. You have to decide what's worth your follow-up time. And yes, some of the time you'll get crappy, creepy, obnoxious messages from real members and fakes. Deal with it! Learn how to block them, report them for abuse, and delete their messages. No system is free of jerks and scammers. ===== Making the most of a PAID membership on this site: - Don't sit around waiting to be contacted by Mr. or Ms. Perfect, go hunt them down! Search for members that match what you're looking for - Age, location, gender, etc. Then, don't bother with Flirts, send them a message! Or if you don't have time right then, Hotlist them so you'll know who to send a message to later. - If your membership qualifies you for the Activity Bonus, take advantage of it! With a small effort on your part every month, you can extend your membership by another 50%, e.g., a 12-month Gold membership becomes 18 months! All you have to do each month is: a) Sign in, b) Send 3 messages (not replies), and c) Write something in your blog or post something in a group. You don't have to make a new blog entry, editing an existing one also qualifies. |
