It's been a long time....

It's been a long time since I've written anything here, but the good folks at Affairlook have informed me that a few well timed posts can help me get 6 extra months of gold membership for free, so I'm back!

I don't have any grand illusions that any of this will ever get read, but just in case it were to be, I thought I might write a series of posts on topics that many of us on this site probably have thought about from time to time. Today's topic - fake profiles

I received, and I'm sure you did too, an email from the CEO of Affairlook who was proudly stating his company's philosophy of not allowing fake profiles or communications from fake members (presumably bots?). While I do think it is way better than it used to be, I had to chuckle at the thought of there not being fake profiles on this site anymore.

It used to be almost sport to play the game "pick out the fake profile". My personal favorites were the ones with unique descriptive characteristics - a picture of a gorgeous model-esque busty young woman, age 19, but with a body type listed as "average" and an education level of "PhD". Or how about the profiles of exotic beauties from the Phillipines or Taiwan or Ecuador who apparently thought I had what it took to be the "man they could trust and love and build their life with" and were letting me know of this desire by sending me flirts. I always wondered how they happened upon the profile of an average Joe from Indiana.

Which brings us to today's iteration of the fake profile. Do you all see the ones with the picture of a beautiful woman but when you look at the profile it is for a "sex group that has orgies 4 times a month? " It's kind of like the emails from foreign royalty promising you a large estate if you will be so kind as to help them out. You so wish that could be true, but you know its not. But I do appreciate the picture of the hot girl. And I do appreciate how Affairlook has weeded those profiles out. When you see one, it's not usually on the site for long.

I'll end this post with a question that I have often wondered. Given that my perspective is that of a man looking at female profiles, and knowing that men likely outnumber women by a large margin on this site, do women ever feel like they are looking at fake profiles? Or are there enough bad real ones that fake ones would be redundant..lol. Just curious....

Until next time...
