We saw Transformers the movie

Today we took the for their first visit to the movies. Star City, the multi-screen place in deepest Birmingham. The were well behaved.....until we left, upon which Ricky had a screaming fit about wanting sweets from the overpriced stalls. He was so loud that people around us had to put their fingers in their ears in the manner of a Courtney Love or Crystal Waters concert.

We saw Transformers the movie. It has great CGI effects but lacks a substantial plot.
There is a little baddie robot too which irritated the living shit outa me. Think Jar Jar Binks. I predict we'll be treading plastic models of the little shit into the carpet some time after Christmas.
The strong point of the film of course is the CGI, seeing this in the movie theatre is the best way to appreciate it. Not something you should see in cheeky copy form.
My favourite part was towards the end when baddies or goodies, (Can't be sure, I blinked and lost track), are in a fight with fighter jets above some city near the Hoover Dam. The characters change from robot to plane and back again in mid flight. Slick graphics.
Another good part was when a mobile phone was turned into a little psycho robot by the cube thing. I would have liked to see more of this, hundreds of tiny killer phone robots running around a department store or burger king. Think of the product placement opportunities.
The movie is a little long for younger , perhaps 30-45 minutes too long. However it's a good harmless fighting romp if you're not sitting in a draft.
Don't ever give up searching for the fun in life.
