I think articles like this one "Icelandic volcano creates gorgeous sunsets" (google it) are why people think pollution creates beautiful sunsets.

The perversity of the universe is unbounded.

The sunset and sun rise parts of the day are both equally beautiful. I enjoy taking the time on occasion to wonder and the beauty of this part of the day.
I understand the science, but respect the oriental concept of the peace and beauty related to these two parts of the day. They create such wonders and magic if you allow your mind to relax and drift to the wonderment of the day to come or the day that has been.

Again a great post April.

I too have seen the sunset reflected in the glassed canyons of Boston. And gleaming off the gold dome of the State House across the Common. Breathtaking in a different way.

To a country mouse like me that "sunset" looks like a muddy smoggy sunset you'd see over a freeway. Cough cough!

Perhaps the most popular sunset viewing spot on the Vineyard is the fishing village of Menemsha in Chilmark. People gather with take-out lobsters from the back door of the Home Port restaurant. When the sun sets to the west over the Elizabeth Islands they rise and spontaneously applaud.

Thanks BlondeApril.

Watching sunsets are just a beautiful way have saying "Thanks for another wonderful day."

Our neighbourhood local has a patio that is so placed that one can kick back and quietly marvel at each day's sunset with friends. I seldom miss the opportunity of such daily treasures nor marvel less at each new sculptured horizon.

“Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea” ~ Alfred, Lord Tennyson

Your eucalyptus forests sound beautiful and I can sit back and imagine the smell too!
