The City is Split in Half
The City is Split in Half I’m a clock tower hovering in a space of no time Meanwhile, the city is split in half A geode of skyscrapers - weeds sprawling over and boisterous and loud… On my side - your side is empty - You are a fossil vortex and your vices Are what is left Of this season, your nemesis are death, the Blood Moon, and the scent of a particular spice, Whose name escapes you Someday we will meet and I will discover which spice it is -------------------- Image: "Diana, The Blood Moon" by Stephen Lucas |

Wildnwanton: Thank you. Your appreciation and understanding are really affirming. I feel that way about your photography. Blown away. How are things with the job and the family? I know this year has been full of changes for you. I hope all the best for you! Hey if I ever make my way down there, do you still have access to tattoo equipment? That would be kinda cool, a tattoo by you (or work on my exisiting ones, two need it!) MT But if you ever make it out this way, I can still hook you up with some very fine artists! (I's connected like that lol). Things with the family are just fine, still growing, still becoming what it is. I'm still happy as a clam and so are they. Gotcha. HAHA (sorry not "at" you but with you...) I did add a bit of a subtext, didn't I? Well, I am not a huge fan of coffee, but I like herbal tea! MT

Thanks. To be frank, this problem has been bothering me since late December. In the last 4-6 weeks I have not stopped bleeding (although only excessively last week) and it's been hard for me. I have not discussed it because I've been working with my doctor tryingn to figure it out. At this point it's possible it's any one of or a combination of a half dozen problems. Worst case scenerio is cancer, of course, and then it gets easier from there. Unfortunately, I also have cancer in a leg as well (albeit only slightly malignant, meaning I just get an MIR each each to check on the status) but - I really don't like the idea of all of these body parts failing or aging. It's been abruptly so in the last few years an assortment of such concerns. I will just wait and see in the next few weeks after I have an ultrasound etc. Thanks for the hug! MT

I have been having some difficulties recently and this has including some problems with my period, and excessive bleeding. I suppose they came forward in these lines. I wonder if it is so beautiful now? Thanks for visiting! MT

You know, I am wondering if there will ever come a day that I don't come here to read and leave a bit breathless and blown away. Thank you. Your appreciation and understanding are really affirming. Yeah I'm not sure what you are saying. Maybe it will help if I explain that I never do a poem *for* a picture. I always do the poem first, and then find a picture or look through my saved pictures for one that seems suitable. Based upon your remarks, it seems I paired these two well, if you think I found the picture first and wrote 'around' it. MT

One reason that I like poetry is that it makes us think and revisit them. What brings you back is the beauty of the words, and maybe one day, if you visit it enough times, you get to learn what it says to you. I've had several poems like that in my life. This one is similar. The two things that I think are compelling here are the lines about the sides (mine and yours) and the spice. I hope this tidbit helps! Thanks for visiting, as always! MT

I am flattered, thank you. I think you are saying let's do things together all night till we are exhausted. Then, let's sleep late and wake up for a relaxing brunch. However, you are married, so that's going to need to remain a textal relationship. I think. Sorry. MT
