Esben and the Witch - "The Swans"

The swans begin to bellow,
Bellies full of pearls,
Screaming down the houses,
Whilst the willows start to fool.

Bow their boughs and buckle,
The curtains they are drawn,
The cavalcade and symmetry,
Commands for those to move.

The mutiny procession,
Somber and serene,
A pageant on behalf to show,
Her majesty's esteem.

The lake is turning darker,
It's as black as ostrich plumes,
Though I paraded answers,
With a noble magnitude.

Nail down the mirrors,
Pour the wars in the rooms,
The hands of the grandfathers,
Have settled on high noon.

We are the ire
We are the ire
We are the ire
Here the come the ire

Hey. Thanks for popping in. Been a fan of The Kills a long time. I am whatcha call ecclectic when it comes to music. Been listening to Dido and Beth Orton this evening. Who the hell knows what next? Hope you are having a pleasant week. Please feel free to stop by any time.

I dig Beth orton

Age cannot wither her, nor custom stale
Her infinite variety. Other women cloy
The appetites they feed, but she makes hungry
Where most she satisfies. For vilest things
Become themselves in her, that the holy priests
Bless her when she is riggish. ~~ from Antony & Cleopatra

I have been accused of just that, by my younger sister (only sister) who misinterpreted a joke I was attempting to play on her when we were 12 and 14. She went to the bathroom during a game of Monopoly and *as a joke* I shoved the bank money into my shirt, some poking out...ALL of it in my shirt. How dumb is that, if I was genuinely trying to cheat? But anyway, to this day, she refuses to play any games with me. Also, in her defense I always win, and that's not fun.

HAHA (for her, I mean, for me it is)

The lawyer thing went horribly wrong, thanks for asking, I was of everything and I won't recommend it to the next numb skull who thinks justice resides in the courts. It was finalized today and for that I am grateful, sad, but grateful that it is over.
On the music scene..have you been listening to Sigur rios?..mesmerizing.
    Miss you.

I think the only reason you think I'm a bitch is that I don't want to date you. For shame!

In a general sense, I guess you're an OK fellow. But, enough with the Scrabble challenge, already.

Good catch on 'indubitably,' I will admit - that was not spelled well, however - I still say I'd kick your ass.

I'm a sucker for a sexy song. I like the songbook covers by Eliane Elias, Stacey Kent, Diana Krall and so on.

Melissa Frick has a raw sexiness. Very interesting vocals. I like it.

You read my mind in the testimonial post--the skyscrapers and city lights--everything all jazzy and sexy and trippy.
That's my number one daydream. You nailed it. That's so me.
In all seriousness (and for some perverse reason) The Universe has gifted me with this kind of sixth-sense to flirt with - connect with - and seduce men. Sometimes it sort of scares me, Walter. But I'm glad you enjoyed!

I tend to listen to the same music over and over (in order to plumb depths, in a sense), so haven't gotten into your clearly amazing and well received music suggestions. But this photo caught my eye - you do tend to have some excellent photo finding skills. Reminded me of a friend I have in the alt-fashion industry (a designer, mostly). You might like "Belle Morte" styling, by a friend of mine, Alicia D in the Philadelphia area. I think she's googlable. ... ah, she is. She's on model mayhem as a wardrobe designer, under belle morte (she and I went to high school together). And a local friend I went to college with is under "lee loo" on the same site. Both have unique photos, if you're into browsing those sorts of things. Certainly each have a particular subset and don't fit all works, but you might appreciate their photosets. Sometimes more interesting than a google images search. Anywho, all the best!

Also, your last response to me on brainwaves was very sweet. Thank you.
Dear Aspiring,

Well...I do the same. I have listened to "Heavy in Your Arms" easily a 100 times in the past month. One reason I have left it up...it's still my go-to song of the moment. I will try to rectify that this weekend, however - just so my blog viewers can try something new.

I tend to look up pictures based on stories or poems (i.e. a search for "Cinderella") not designer names, but thanks for the suggestions. Have a great weekend!

MT..One of the most haunting songs, for me, from Death Cab, has been 'Cath'..don't know why I have had it as my ring tone for so long...it makes me jump startled everytime.I originally loved its melody, but then saw the lyrics on Pandora..and now it is just sad & dark and reminds me of how fuk'd life choices can be.

You are most welcome my dear Marcia. I hope you enjoy! I suspect most of my selections here would not be as well-known for you, but who knows? In Portugal I was surprised to see many of my favorite musicians had CDs for sale at their large distributors. What kind of music do you like?

No problem, Stephen. If I can in my small way introduce a bunch of people to my favorite musicians and even if just one or two find new favorites and also grow to support those artists it's a win-win as far as I am concerned. I figure, you know, someone might buy a concert ticket or a CD. Do you still buy CDs? LOL
