This blog, at least initially, is intended to focus on issues of cybersecurity, particularly as it pertains to users of this site and others that are frequented by identity thieves, scammers, and sometimes violent criminals. If you bear with me, I will do my best to be informative and hopefully spark some discourse between members of this website.

What is Your Experience with Scammers and/or Identity Thieves Online (on this site or others?)
I have been a victim of Identity Theft or other similar online scam activity.
I have not yet been a victim but people have tried to get sensitive personal information from me over the computer.

I have never had anyone try to commit identity theft or rip me off online that I know of.

Greetings, folks.

First time blogger (here at least), long time enthusiast of most things erotic and pretty much all things pertaining to personal digital security.

So I've noticed that the ranks of this site are absolutely loaded with scammers, identity thieves, and perhaps those who would lure someone unsuspecting to an unsafe place in the hopes of committing in-person crimes against them. Not most people on here (I think most are on here for purposes at least related to the purposes of the site), but an extremely large quantity of people who do not have memberships (and a creepy quantity of those who do). I can only assume that probably thousands here have had some kind of fraud or identity theft committed against them at some point in their lives (I don't just mean on here) and a much larger portion have had someone at least try by asking leading questions about identifying information or that used to communicate with the outside world (like email addresses, IM screen names or ). This site of course warns people, but lots of us want to give the benefit of the doubt, particularly when someone who seems interesting strikes up a conversation out of the blue.

Over the course of coming days/weeks/months, I intend to use this blog as a means to help educate other members as to the best and least difficult means of fighting identity theft (in other words, the most practical). I hope some of you will join me.

In the meantime, stay safe, and don't give out your personal info to someone sexy. They might be a crook looking to screw you in a different way.
