Amadinejad Attacks Israel At Durban II

A letter from Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, President of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews .....

Dear Friend of Israel,

Earlier this week Israel marked Yom Ha’Shoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, a day set aside to remember the six million Jews murdered by the Nazi regime only 60 years ago. As Israel prepared for this solemn observance, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, perhaps the world's best-known Holocaust denier, was preparing to address the United Nations World Conference on Racism in Geneva, Switzerland.

I've discussed the U.N. Conference on Racism (known popularly as "Durban II") before. Unfortunately, it seems to be fulfilling the worst fears of those who warned that it would become an anti-Israel hatefest. Ahmadinejad's speech was a case in point the low point thus far at an event rife with harsh and unfair criticism aimed at the Middle East's only democracy. In his speech to delegates to the conference, Ahmadinejad said Israel's founders "resorted to military aggression to make an entire nation homeless on the pretext of Jewish sufferings." He called Israel's government "totally racist" and "perpetrators of genocide." He accused "Zionists" of planning the U.S. invasion of Iraq, and said that "world Zionism personifies racism."

As he launched into his vile tirade, the Iranian President was interrupted by hecklers, members of a French Jewish student's organization who staged a creative protest by pelting him with rubber clown noses to underscore the fact that the conference had degenerated into a circus. Representatives of 23 European Union nations walked out of the room in protest. At the same time, many representatives of Arab and Muslim countries greeted Ahmadinejad’s words with strong applause, in a revolting display of approval for a hateful tyrant.

This regrettable incident confirms that the nations who decided to boycott the U.N. conference including Israel, the United States, Canada, Australia, Italy, Germany, and others made the right decision. While the EU representatives who walked out during Ahmadinejad's speech certainly did the right thing, it is a travesty that the U.N. provided a public forum for the Iranian President in the first place. As commentator Mark Steyn put it, "Every photo-op, every admission to every global schmoozefest is a victory for [Ahmadinejad] - and teaches a dangerous lesson to civilization's enemies." If the U.N. truly wanted to live up to its mission of fostering peace and international cooperation, it would take a hard line against Ahmadinejad rather than invite him to speak. And it would certainly not give him a place of honor at an event ostensibly aimed at eradicating the evil of racism.

There are those who say that the Holocaust could never happen again. But if Ahmadinejad's hateful words show anything, it is that the genocidal hatred that was the driving force behind the Holocaust is as alive today as it ever was. Today, in honor of those millions who lost their lives to fulfill the Nazis’ mad vision of a world without Jews, let us resolve to confront the evils of anti-Semitism and racism wherever they occur. We cannot give back life to those who perished. But we can help ensure that the eternal rallying cry of the Jewish people - "Never again!" - is fulfilled.

With prayers for shalom, peace,

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein
President of the IFCJ

I'm really getting tired of Mahmoud Amadinejad, his threats against Israel, and his asinine statements. The thought has occurred to me that if our NAVY Seals can take out three Somali pirates with perfect head shots while they're in a life boat that is bobbing up and down in the Indian Ocean, why couldn't a special ops unit, either Israeli or American, take out this little piece of camel dung? And if we did, what would the Iranians or others do about it?

Ha ha ha!

Well now our CIA boys can't do shit other than offer a terrorist a cigarette and a cup of coffee (with cream and sugar), Mirandize them and ask them some standard non-intimidating questions with soft music playin' in the background. Don't think you'd like it, Sorce.

I wrote you and your band some kick-ass song lyrics. Will post 'em soon!
