Weekend update

Another tournament comes to an end. We had to work hard on Saturday to get a win. It was a tie in regulation, neither team scored during the 5 minute 4-on-4 overtime. So it went to a 5 man shoot out. Our other goalie was in net, and his mom said "I can't sit for this". I know how she feels, it's nerve wracking to watch your tend goal during a shoot-out. Our 5 shooters came through with 4 of 5 putting it in the net, and low and behold our goal tender came through with saves on 2 of the 4 shots he faced. This was a tough win, but it was good to see the face down the adversity and come away with the win. Makes me think they like to play the underdogs.

Although there were a few rough spots, the team made it to the Championship game yesterday. They worked hard, and came away with a first place trophy last night. The post game celebration was sweet, there's nothing quite like seeing twenty<b> teenagers </font></b>on the ice celebrating a big win. Apparently they even broke out some sparkling juice in the locker room! Oh to be a again.
