I DON'T SEND TEXTS
I DON'T SEND TEXTS I DON'T SEND TEXTS I'm too much of a WORD--y person to send text messages on my cell phone. I don't have a SMART phone either. I use a small LG cell phone, powered by Virgin America, and Sprint cell service, that I've used for years. The cell has no contracts, but is paid up front in cash at a storefront in the local town.. This has been a good service for me, it fills all my needs, and I really don't need a smart phone. My phone is capable of sending text messages, and is able to connect to the WEB, but I've never needed to use those features. As a matter of fact, when Marisol is at home, I keep the cell on AIRPLANE MODE, and don't even bother taking any calls on it. Those people I know, and need,or just want to contact me, have my email address and they know I check my emails four or five times a day.. I type as fast as I think, and my desktop is set up for writing emails conveniently. What about you? Do you send a lot of texts? Do you have an I-phone or another brand Smart Phone? When it comes to computers, I use an eight year old Dell, Inspiron, Desktop, that runs Microsoft Vista, and has a large--for eight years ago--19 inch wide Monitor. I also use a backup harddrive--My Drive Essential, by Western Digital--for protecting the data when the orginal Dell harddrive finally gives up the ghost and dies. I use a full-sized LOGITECH battery powered keyboard and mouse so I can write emails, or comments and posts on my blog, from anyplace in the room with the keyboard on my lap without a bunch of wires getting tangled. My simple dial-up Internet Service costs $17.99 a month from AOL... Eventually I'll probably go to a hot spot WIFI, or satellite service, but, I still have the first dollar I ever made and dislike spending money on high speed Internet Service..Besides, my computer is a solid platform and hasn't given me any problems in a long time My philosophy in most things in life is: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it..." The picture below is of my driveway as a car comes through the gate. I took the picture last year, but it looks the same today.. by david stardust...Friday morning, May 23, 2014... |

Different strokes for different folks...I'm glad there's so much technology out there now that we can all come together in the digital world... I would miss my desktop if, and when it goes.. I just checked, and I have 5.194 photos on this one, plus hundreds of documents.. My cell phone doesn't contain a camera. I take my small Samsung camera with me most of the time, and about all the photos on this machine are from that Samsung. I think anyone who has children or grandchildren needs to have the ability to send and receive texts.. D,,,
