You already know how much I love, love, love these truly informative posts of yours, and that is such a great tribute to Canada, on her birthday. I am just so very disappointed that you were here, and he had not yet "met" yet. I could have toured you around the Rocky Mountains of BC and Alberta. This whole post was just wonderful. Thank you. PS: When I get to Ireland, you can be one of my tour guides. Check out my profile or and become a "watcher" of my blog FMAOPLS,to learn more about me, and for intelligent, lively, smartassy and fun discussion, with a little irreverence thrown in. "Like" or comment on my photos, and I promise I'll add more. Thanks.

Snap - I think I have a cousin who is a dentist in Vancouver so might have somewhere to stay of ever I get over. Am not sure how much I know about the place, but then it's always interesting finding out. I would also like to visit Quebec city and Newfoundland - but they are miles apart, the map can be deceiving, it's only when you look at distances in miles do you appreciate it's vastness.

Hello Homebird, I would not so much call it insider knowledge but listening with interest and asking all the right questions (or being corrected when necessary....lol) and then remembering some. Sometimes we just take the present so much for granted, but really Canada has this fascinating history, not to mention being a beautiful countryside and fascinating cultural mixture.

Shoes winging their way to you... Yes Canada was amazing loads of photos and memories.

Ty Gerk for the outstanding post. I see you were in Ottawa and at my favourite pub too. Great beer they have there. I lived in Ottawa for 5 years and return back there again before I retired and return back to British Columbia.. Enjoy your pics on the Quebec Side as well.. Can't get enough of poutine. Lots of fireworks normally happen on Canada Day here. I will be running around with my golf ball trying not too loose my Canada Flag. We have to come in with a score of under 40 on 9 holes. Women's night out and competition too. ty hugs kisses V
