Swap meets and Tarot Card readings
Swap meets and Tarot Card readings Tonight I went to a swap meet that was put on for the bdsm community by one of the GLBT groups. It was put on for Pride Week and supports a good cause so I went and even picked up a book about spanking. Maybe next year I'll make a bunch of my chains from my kinky crafts project and be a vendor. While I was there I got a 20 minute tarot card reading by one of the better known women in the community. She does a lot of organizing and apparently is good with knife play. And she looks remarkably like AudioFilly and is about the same age (maybe a bit older), sounds like her a bit. It really is a bit scary. But I digress. Have you ever had a tarot reading? This is my second, but I'm not a believer. Although it is interesting how often they seem to come up with things that hit home for the questions you ask. So here is how this one went down. She told me to think of a question (she also wanted me to have a time frame in mind). And to hold that question in my heart while I shuffled or mixed up the cards. When I started I was thinking, what will happen with my love life in the next 6 months. A pretty standard question right. By the time I handed her the deck I had added in "and with Kittie." I don't remember every little detail of it. but here is what I remember. (keep in mind I didn't tell her more then my time frame, and that it was a relationship question before she started explaining the cards). Until after she was explaining I never told her the exact question. And I've never really talked to this woman much before tonight). The first card she put down signified that I was seeking out counsel and mentors. People that could help me learn what I needed to learn to get where I needed to go. The next one signified that something disastrous had happened that probably caught me by surprised. Across from that we had the Hermit card, which is apparently a good sign considering the other card said I was seeking counsel. With those two cards so close it meant that I was getting the counsel I needed and getting good advice. Above them the devil card was placed. Apparently with it's placement it means that there will be some temptations thrown my way. The picture I posted above was another card that made an appearance in my reading. The hanged man, in that context apparently represents my path, that I know it and need to stay true to it. I also have to be careful about my resources (this could mean time, money, energy). If I don't I could get myself into an "unstable" position. But I don't recall if that was connected to the hanging man or not. There was another card telling me that my journey would not be an easy one. It would often feel like I was getting nowhere. But above the devil card was one another interesting card. I don't recall the name of the card. But if right side up it signified someone that would always be an apprentice, but never a master. Someone that would always try but never been good at something. However mine was inverted. Apparently meaning I will get better at this. There were then a couple cards that I don't remember. But on top of it all was a card that signified a new beginning. Something new would come about somewhere around the 6 month mark. Now I don't know if this was a relationship thing or just a Kittie and I thing. But it caught my interest. She had also mentioned at the beginning that I had gotten exactly what I had wanted at one point. But for whatever reason it didn't stay. Then the one that really stuck with me. As we got to talking about Kittie and I (very raw basics, you all know more then she does about it). She picked up one of the cards she hadn't mentioned before, though it was on the table the whole reading. It was the Ten of Swords. She said, "I don't know if there is any blame to place here, but you got screwed" I wish I would have asked if there was anything she could do to elaborate on that. All in all I found it interesting. I'm still not a stead fast believer. But "There are more things in heaven and earth Horatio then are dreamt of in your<b> philosophy.</font></b>" So who knows. Have you ever had a tarot reading or your palm read (which reminds me I could tell you all about my high school palm reading sometime, you'll get a good laugh out of it)? Did it hit home in any way? Did the production come true? Do you believe in palm reading and tarot cards? |

It never ceases to amaze how a truly gifted practitioner can show you exactly what is going on. Its the charlatans that give it all a bad name. I have an adviser (which you know), and when I am with her she does pull out cards. Not to do a specific reading--although we have done those--but as we talk, she pulls cards to get more explanation for our conversation. Her gift is not limited to cards and palms, and she has even taught me some ways to better connect to the universe. As for coming true...For your readers who haven't read my blog... She said my cervical cancer symptoms would disappear, that came true. She said my X would have less influence on da chirrens, that came true. She told me my 'soulmate' would be a man with children whose name starts with 'M'...well, hasn't come true yet, but 85% of my lovers have had names that start with M! That I call a universe joke!

I make a point of going to a certain place whenever I travel to New Orleans and they have never missed on a reading. They told me I had an employee who was stealing - true- and a new employee coming in the spring- true- AND told me about my mother's cancer before any of us knew about it. It is nice to get validations about bad spots in our lives though

If you feel like you are getting the answers or direction you need, then perhaps consider seeing this person more frequently. Sometimes all you need is reassurance...

I kinda like knowing I have a doppelganger out there somewhere that is some of the opposites of me, but that also shares some of my interests. I have a tarot deck & dabble at reading my own cards from time to time. But really I have other methods for divination that work better for me. I'm so sorry you didn't take a second to say, "I've got a friend that looks just like you. Let me take a picture to send. She'll get a real kick out of it." Because I so would have!!

I have had my future told about 5 years ago by someone who is nationally known and everything they told me was wrong. I did have a psychic reading at a renn faire when I wax about 25. She told me, among other things, that I had no "mr. Right" and that my life would instead be a series of somewhat short-lived and intense affairs. At the time I thought that was the worst prediction ever!. I mean you are supposed to tell someone they will fall in love, get married, and live happily ever after! 20 years later, I wonder if she was actually the most gifted psychic ever! 2022... it HAS be better, right?!

My mother in law attempted to do a Tarot reading on me once - which I find to be all sorts of irony now. LOL I don't generally believe the readings hold anything to them - but they can be fun and motivating. I am a celebration of willful chaos and a hugger.
