I Can See The Weeds Growing...

As I looked out over my front yard this morning, I can see the damned weeds growing right before me. I've been studying all the estimates I've received from the various lawn services...I'm still finding it difficult to let go and hire my spring/summer fertilizing. I've done it myself ever since I've lived in this house. I also was the yard keeper in my previous married life.

When I drive through the neighborhood to work in the mornings, I notice the yards that have been treated with a spraying of the green chemical, the pre-emergent...I'm envious of the yards that will come about from this late winter-early spring treatment...I want my yard to be one that I am proud of, weed-free, a lush green carpet of grass...

So, I'll go through the garage today, check out what chemicals I have left over from last year and make a decision. I may try and get out and mow to get the winter crud up so that when the yard service does get to spray next week, there won't be anything inhibiting the chemicals to get down and kill the weeds at the root level.

Today will also be garden planting day...seeds and starter plants will be secured by the end of the day...with temps in the 70s today, it is beginning to feel like spring is here...another couple of cold fronts over the next couple of weeks and we'll be in full blown spring-time here in Oklahoma...which also means, full-blown tornado season!!!
