Meet/Greet BBQ in Sacramento on August 25th

Hi All,

We are having an Affairlook meet/greet BBQ on August 25 (a Saturday) starting at 4pm @ McKinley park in Sacramento, CA. There will probably be some fun or get togethers after the BBQ such as: strip club, one of the local swing clubs or if there is a house party going on that weekend (none that I know of so far at the ones we go to) or possibly even a hotel suite. Come as you are, no pressure and have a good time with other Affairlook'ers. There will be singles and couples. Most will be between ages 30-50 and of all difference sizes (yes we are very BBW friendlY). If you are interested in going, please visit our blog and post if you plan on going (or if you are a standard member then you can contact us on messenger under the same name).

The address at Mckinley Park is:

3330 McKinley Boulevard Sacramento, CA 95816

Feel free to invite others that you might think would like attending. Use the meet/greet to your advantage. If you've been meaning to meet up with somebody and haven't had the chance yet...invite them. This is a layed back way to get to know everybody.

This is a buffet style BBQ which means that you need to bring a dish that will feed how many will be coming with you. A premade dish at the grocery store is fine but try and bring something other than chips if possible.

Please only say yes you will be going if you have it circled on your calendar and plan on going (besides unforeseen circumstances). You can post that you are a maybe though . When posting please include how many people will be coming with you and what dish you will be bringing (not written in stone though).

There should be around 50 people there. Hope to see ya there.

Hey! I would love to attend this. I should be able to, but I have to check my schedule. It may be conflicting with other obligations.

If I do come, I will be bringing just myself, and as for a dish? My Dish? Will probably be some potato salad or what-not from the grocery store.

After party ideas:

For all that want to do something after the bbq....help with some ideas.

There are currently no house/swing paties going on the night of the bbq, or at least that I know of. So we need some ideas of afer party.

Here are some that I am thinking of:

1. Go to Loree's (which is a local swing pub for those that don't know)
2. Go to Centerfold Strip Club ($20 cover charge at the door)
3. Go directly to a hotel suite, lol
4. Do carpool and go to Power Exchange in San Fransisco (on site nookie club)
5. Nothing...too tired and no energy...I want go home!!!!
6. Something else...please toss out ideas!

Look forward to seeing some of the wondering new faces!!

Just to update all...so far there is approx. 20-30 people that are confirmed on coming and about 10-20 that say they might come. With experience from putting on the meet/greets in the past it seems about a bit over 1/2 of the confirmed people usually show up since emergencies/work/family stuff changes plans on going at the last minute.

So the good news is that with the last minute schedule changes....there should still be about 20+ people showing up. To give ya an idea of who I expect to come is:

approx. 6+ couples
approx. 3-4 single gals
approx. 3-4 single guys

Feel free to invite others that you know. If you need to contact us we are on yahoo under the same name as here.

I'm sorry to say that I have to back out of the BBQ. It was brought to my attention that I need a couple of new tires on my truck. They are going to set me back $175 each so there goes my road trip money.... I'm sooooo bummed out.

I checked with the park today and there is no alcohol allowed. However, if we are quiet about it we might be able to sneak some in.....but shhhh, lol. Upto the ones that want to bring something to drink. Just keep it within reason.

After pary ideas are coming in. Please add your opinion so we know what we all should do.

Power exchange is in San fransisco and the costs are: $75 for single men, $20-$40 for couples and $0-$10 for woman.

A hotel room/suite we could all pitch in for the cost. Nice hotel suites are approx. $200 and regular cheapy rooms are $50.

Loree's there is no door charge and has a nice outside sitting area.

More ideas?

I am for a meet at Loree's, and a room/suite at Holiday Inn Madison and I-80. I want this nite to be great since it is my first event. I'm in for $50 on the suite, with my date...TONY (916)247-5036

I plan on going! I will be bringing a side dish and some burgers (frozen beef). As for alcohol, If you all want some at the party , it would be a good idea to premix and put into a 1 gallon milk container, and be sure to bring some extra ice! And remember, to be respectful about your intake please! I vote for a Strip Club.. or/and a hotel suite. There are some nice places around downtown, that we could have fun relaxing/playing/watching in!

I vote for Loree's and a suite at the Holiday Inn at Madison and I80.
I want this event to be the best, since it is my first - and I am so excited. I am in for $50 for the suite.....TONY

I personally think that Loree's and then a hotel suite would be best. It isn't as far away and yet we can still have lots of fun. And maybe a group of us can go to PE in the future...which I have been trying to put together for a few years anyhow and it is always a bomb....maybe it will be a go now that there are new faces in my friends.

Good idea, weave, on putting drink in a disquised drink container.

I will check out some suites in the area. I am a Holiday Inn lover also, however, sometimes we can find one with a jacuzzi tub in the room for right around the same money so I'll do some research.

Glad to see some more faces going too! I am anxious to meet the new people and excited to see people again that we do know.

I'll be there approx. 3 for anybody that comes early. Other than that I"ll see ya all at 4. The bbq will probably go on until 8 (give or take an hour) and then to an after party. The park closes at dusk.

All is a go for tomorrow. More and more people are coming so should be a great turn out.

As for after party...been checking on hotels. They can range from $80-$290 for a suite that would be appropriate. I haven't made any reservations yet but have called a few and keeping their numbers. We'll all talk more about it at the bbq tomorrow. I just don't want to book a suite and then have it be a bust. We'll need contributors to put towards the cost of the hotel....approx. 20-40 each/couple depending on how many go to an after party of that sorts.

But I am all for going to Loree's after the bbq for a couple of relaxing drinks and more socializing. They have a great outdoor sitting area.

I called the park again today. Most/all the spots are reserved for tomorrow. Hoping for a cancelation so we can get a charcoal grill and tables. So be forwarned....you might want to bring a folding chair or blanket just in case we can't get one of the big spots. Still keep an eye out for the green gazebo and balloons. Ii am bringing our big gas grill and a small portable one so even if we don't get one of the charcoal grill spots....we'll have good grub

Affairlook mail us if you need our #

See ya all there!!
