So I was thinking...

Lots going on in Kelly's world lately.
I got an invitation this weekend that took me by surprise and I have been processing it the last couple of days. A friend of mine has been nominated for an award that will given in Washington, DC. I was surprised that he called me to ask me to attend. We don't live near each other and we only talk every couple of months. When I asked why he would want to take me, he said because I am a great friend. This is going to be an emotionally hard time for him because it has to do with when he was in the war. Apparently, he needs the strong personality to keep things even.
I am honored and humbled that he would ask me. I do consider him a close friend but I would have assumed he would have asked someone else. Of course the ceremony is not until January so he has plenty of time to change his mind but still very touching.
I have also decided not to go to Myrtle Beach at the end of the summer. I would love to see my friends and I am sure it would be a great time but I just don't think it would be the best situation now. There are lots of things I am ready to move away from and that is one of them.
Work is crazy busy although I am looking forward to my Juneau trip and seeing my buddies. I think between work and the stuff planned the 2 weeks I will be there will go by much to quickly.
Kiddo went back to her dad's on Friday. She probably won't come home till I return from Juneau. She posted on FB today that she was glad to be home...wtf? Teenagers.
I am still stinging from my Friday incident but I think I am letting it go better than I thought I would. I have to wonder if it was my ego or my feelings that were hurt. Is there a difference?
